How the hell are people complaining? We just got rid of Vinny Cerrato. This day should be declared a holiday. Kids should be let out of school, shops should close, and people should come home from work.

Certainly you can argue that there are better choices than Allen out there, bu for the five plus years I've been part of this board the two most common sentences I've seen written here are "We need a GM" and "We need to get rid of Vinny"
Well in one morning, we did both....and we still complain
I'm not! I'm very happy that Vinny is gone. |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Cerrato resigns (Bruce Allen hired as VP/GM) - merged
Is there any possibility Jim Zorn stays? With Allen, there seems to have been a track record of finding players to fit the WCO system that belonged to Gruden. Just because we now have Allen as our VPFO/GM does it necessarily mean its either Gruden or Shanahan?
I'm asking because I'm in slight favor of seeing what year 3 with Zorn-Campbell looks like before we switch HC and offensive schemes again. If it is Shanahan that comes to town, there have been a few remarks about it being Cerrato 2.0; Allen being Snyder's puppet. This is assuming Shanahan won't have full control and that Snyder is still playing the way he wants to, and not giving autonomy to his HC-GM partnership. I can't wait for us to play spoilers these last three weeks, but am itching for answers to our team's direction.
I agree, but too many people want Zorn's head too. I want to see Zorn for at least one more year before we decide to go with a different HC. As long as he understands that we need someone else to be the playcaller. |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Cerrato resigns (Bruce Allen hired as VP/GM) - merged
Snyder made the comment that Allen's decision will be final. Good first step.
Personal opinion-- Zorn will impress Allen - winning these next 2 NFC East battles, and will be asked to stay, minus playcalling. Zorn will not give up this HC job, and will keep Campbell. Allen will round out the FO with "football people". Blache will retire. From there who knows.
You forgot the part where we draft a tackle with the first rounder :headbange |

Just found this comment on RI. Wish I could take credit for it but in the end the person who came up with it deserves it.

Well in one morning, we did both....and we still complain
Right now, i see Snyder manipulating the fans into thinking something's changed when, really, nothing has. The dysfunctional front office structure remains the same - only the players have changed. If you didn't get a chance to listen to Mike Wilbon on the Tony Kornheiser show this morning, then you should. A character in Snatch said, "Don't piss in my bucket and tell me its raining." By all apperanaces, that's exactly whats happening here. Snyder fired one yes-man and hired another. Allen has never been a "real" GM before. He's only been a yes man. If Snyder wanted a real GM, he wouldnt have hired Allen. Snyder has lead a dysfunctional franchise for so long, he doesn't deserve us to suddenly beleive he has changed now. He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Time will tell, but i'm remaining skeptical until proven otherwise. |

Allen had a reputation of drafting OL, early and often.
I was thinking a parade like after the SB!
Lol, this is our Super Bowl, at least for the foreseeable future. |

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Cerrato resigns (Bruce Allen hired as VP/GM) - merged
The Bruce Allen presser was pretty good. He didn't throw anything out there to make you think Zorn is staying or going, but if I had to read between the lines I think Mr. Portis is done here.
Allen said he's a big proponent of practicing 52 weeks a year; Not a good one here and there. He also said that the team will be cap ready regardless of what happens with the CBA. Didn't committ on Zorn one way or another, but for the first time I'm starting to believe Zorn is gone too. |
A 9-7 season which is the culmination of 5 years with more losses than wins is nothing to be proud about. 9-7 is mediocre. allen and gruden's record together was very mediocre.
A decade with 5 divisional championships is way below my standards too. |
