yeah, banks can be tossed overboard. not to be too harsh, but he's not helping us and he's wasting that roster spot.
Yeah he was getting flushed and Moss had slipped through coverage and was wide open waving to Griff.
Really smart play on Tana's part. I've seen receivers just stop on plays like that instead of continuing and giving their QB a chance to make a play. |
Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
This is what Jaws had to say about our defense today on PTI.
Wilbon: We don't talk about the Redskins defense much Jaws, but what did they do to Eli Manning, cuz this wasn't entirely RG3. The Redskins defense had a hand in this. Jaws: Mike you're absolutely right and I'm glad we're talking about that Redskins defense. You know when you lose Orakpo and Carriker, two dominant players in the NFL, you gotta do some things differently. You gotta scheme your defense and that's exactly what Haslett's done. They rushed eleven different players at Eli Manning on Monday night, and I have never seen Eli as confused in the pre-snap phase. He struggled against a well-designed defense that executed well against the Giants. So some props for Jim Haslett. |
Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Good job Haslett. Keep it going! Has he just realized he needs to do this???

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
NFL network, 2 people picked us to win out..
So we will lose 3/4 lol |

Nah hes just a me guy lookin to pad his stats. Lol. Good point man - hadnt looked at it that way but yes - he was watching Griff run for his life and realized the safeties were gonna peel back and it would have been a td for sure had Griff seen it. |
Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Yea, one of the rare misses. I guarantee he will learn from that and hit it later this year.
It's a good bet. Tana's pretty short though lol... |

I'm still not sold on our defense. We need to get hits on the QB. WE NEED SACKS. We need BETTER COVERAGE. I personally think the Giants just beat themselves on Monday. They were driving on us from one end of the field all the way to the red zone and their drives would either result in a field goal, or would be an incomplete off the finger tips pass, to force a punt. Haslett still needs to go at the end of the year. And like I said, our offense is now our defense, because we've gotten so good teams are going to try what the Giants did; long drive to keep our offense off the field. |

We are not gonna magically aquire talent or our bench guys are not aquire pro bowl talent. You have to scheme and strategize. This is why you pay your D cord and coaches big money. Its on them at this point. They've had zilch to work with in the secondary this season and like Jaws stated above we've lost 2 key rush players. So far the second half of the season Haslett been up to the challenge, holding the Giants and their really good offense to that score was an amazing job. Lets see how this plays out. |
Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
I love Jaws, but I'm not sure what he's talking about saying we confused Eli
|
Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
maybe second half? he definitely didnt look as comfortable then as he did in the first half. first half he was KILLING us.
|
Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Giants are a one of the more inconsistent offenses in the league. Looking great one half and then bad the other. Then looking like the best team in the NFL and then looking terrible. They go game to go game looking completely different. Still the defense did not allow touchdowns but they also allowed the giants to hold the ball a ridiculous portion of the first half. A good defensive coordinator gets their team off the field on 3rd and 10's.
