Ben Standig
@BenStandig T.Y. Hilton on NFLN talking Wentz: "I loved him. ... was a leader for us. He stepped up big in the games we needed him. There were some games, you know, it wasn't good... I felt like he did a pretty good job under the circumstances. ... Whenever he got his chance, he made plays." |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Hes super religious. Which is totally cool but Id imagine he tends to flock together with the religious outdoors men type of players and not the drinking/strippers type players.
Only time I ever heard religion was a problem in the locker room was with Coach Zorn. Winning = everything is great |

As I stated, the guy is Jay Schroeder. He's going to make some big boy deep throws, then also miss an easy 10 yard dig or hold the ball too long, get sacked and fumble to lose the game. It's always going to be really good to really bad thing w/ him. Hopefully he can find that middle ground and not realize that every play has to be a hero play. |

There were guys that couldn't stand Joe Theismann but he is loved in this town. |

Yes that is true, but the rumours being spread about Wentz were that he was bad in the lockerroom and these comments from teammates help to disprove that narrative |

Well then, maybe in a year or two we can trade him for an all-pro tackle... |

Worth the read/watch I keep coming back to it but folks got watch Hard Knocks Colts. The last four games the Colts were 2-2, they were destroyed by COVID in the majority of the games, literally playing with make shift O line play plus the center Kelly dealing with a lost of a child. Carson was a game manager in the Pats win they went JT heavy, Carson was a major reason they won at ARZ on Xmas, he tied up the Raiders it was the D that couldn't hold LV at the end and he had a sub par game against JAX but Colts D shit the bed too. Honestly looking at all that and his yearly totals, CW was not the Colts problem their problem was COVID. I guess it's Irsay who made this decision but IMO it was knee jerk reaction. Maybe on a 1-1 level he just didn't like CW, it happens. In the end we shall see but considering all variables Wentz is/was the best the Commanders were ever going to do at QB at least for this off season. |

Yeah the Sproles thing was pretty bad. Alshawn Jeffrey didn't really care too much for him, neither did Duece Staley. Sounds like Wentz was pouting a bit because the players seemed to like Foles better. And also was being babied by Peterson. Perhaps it was all a learning experience for him. No more excuses for him at this point. This is probably his last chance at being a full time starter. |

I didn't see much about the guy where he acted like a diva. That last episode he really didn't show much leadership when the team really needed him. It was kinda cringe... Darius Leonard was the obvious alpha on the team. He was the unquestioned leader and a really good player as well. |

Yep. That was Bobby B at his best. And that is why I always say draft QB's. As bad as Jay was in spots, he was also good enough to win a couple play off games and got us to an NFC Championship. He still had value when his time was up in DC. |

I agree And you like to see more of that from CW(QB1) but also to be fair i don't believe he is a locker room cancer. You know who is pretty good at QB1 but isn't necessarily the leader or a leader on his team? Lamar Jackson, he is not even a Captain for the Ravens. He maybe in the history of league MVPs the only one who was/is not a Captain. My point is you don't have to be the alpha leader of your team to be a effective QB1. |
