Rex played well, but I don't like his inability to throw the deep ball. Beck has big play ability because of his footwork and stronger arm.

I think after a few more games under Becks belt he will seperate himself from Grossman. The competition is pretty even @ this point but Grossman has had many more games to develop over his career. So, Beck gives the Skins the best opportunity to make a leap..............
What is being risked? The entire 2011 season and then some. Little Danny might not be as patient as we think he is. Do you think Danny is going to excuse another sub 500 season? Maybe, but I am worried he will revert back to his old ways.
Ok Sally, dial down the drama a few notches, ok? The entire season doesn't hinge on the play of the QB. We're going to be a heavy running and defense team with the QB expected to manage the game and make plays when the opportunity presents itself.

We have improved at every position group on the field, INCLUDING quarterback. Don't expect Rex or Bex to be trotting onto the field at Aloha Stadium in February but they should be able to effectively get us through the season. If they fail, we draft a QB in 2012 and are able to plug him into a young and talented roster. This is pretty much a win-win.

Don't be fooled by the national media clowns painting Snyder with an itchy trigger finger waiting to fire Shanny if they don't make the promised land. He knows this is the best coach and GM he's had since he bought the team and is smart enough not to screw it up.

Let's face it, neither one of these guys are great QBs.

I agree with wilslwilso 100%. Rex looks much more comfortable then beck. Beck also has a problem with starring down his receiver. I'm just not sold on beck like so many others seem to be. Rex,by far,had a better pre-season.

I know it's been said, but the point isn't that Rex looked more or less polished, but instead that a guy with a total of 4 starts played a longtime vet to a basic tie. You put Beck in, in the hopes that he can translate book learning, and on field reality to improved performance over the course of a season.

Lets just hope Beck is the modern day Trent Green. I would say Beck starts with a short leash. I would say both are going to play this season if one struggles.

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?

I finally voted after seeing the last preseason game.
As much as I really WANTED John Beck to win the competition, he has not.
Grossman looked amazing game one....seems much quicker with his decisions, sure, he doesn't move as well...but the way some are talking Beck is some sort of Vick...which he clearly is not....I don't see the upside we were sold on Beck...he looks like a backup to me...but so does Grossman for that matter.
I don't like Grossman firing straight into ILB's occasionally and forcing throws that get picked...but he certainly seems to have a better grasp of the offense and is quite decisive, quickly and that is very good. Beck seems to occasionally stare down receivers and doesn't know how to take a sack yet...he does make some rookie mistakes

Really this is a toss up...but to me, since no one has shown they can be the long term qb...you play the QB that is more effective, and without looking at stats but watching every play...I give the preseason ball to Grossman (yuck)

Hmm...this is a very good point, I would be fine if Beck started....but I did vote for Gross Man

I think that anyone SOLD on Beck vs Grossman probably is buying too much into coach speak and the media... I give beck the bootleg, with this offense is that enough?

I like it how Beck fans straight up act like the last preseason showing against a second string bunch of bums didn't even happen.

It's like taking 33% of this miracle man unknown quantity big upside mobile QB's preseason audition and saying let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He's earned it. Now let me go stick my head back in the sand.

He had WR's that are 3rd/4th on the depth chart, and not to mention he was getting crushed because our Oline couldn't block the 2nd team Buc's defense.

I would be more worried about our Oline at the moment being able to drop back block then who the QB is going to be at the moment because it wont matter who we got back there.

I thought that Beck's performance against Tampa was ghastly. But I still prefer him to start - as the lesser of two evils.

The problem is that we do not have a starting QB on the roster.

Yea the Giants have had our number and its more than recently. Cannot remember the last time we beat the Giants. They have owned us at least the last 4 or 5 games in a row.
