Yes! Capers is a good value here and fills a need. Great pick.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Wow! Eric Cook is freaking huge (6'6). Maybe he's not camp fodder after all. I really hope though that we see both Capers and Cook on the final roster. Wonder if Rinehart would be the odd man out.

huge

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
So in a draft where we started with 4 picks, we got: 6 draft day picks and Carriker. (plus Mcnabb and Jarmon) not too bad i guess

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
i am really happy with both cook and capers. anyone want to put a number on the chance that either of these guys can come in and start immediately? 5%? 10%?

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Very happy about Capers.

And half of those 6 picks were spent on the OL. Heck yeah. And we, maybe, have a very Shanny fullback. |

What a turnaround. This new FO turned something out of nothing!

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
229. Erik Cook, C, New Mexico
I really can't believe that the Redskins waited this long to take their second offensive lineman. Erik Cook fits the range. (Pick Grade: B) |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Outstanding 7th round.
Even Terrence Austin looks like a great kick returner with excellent hands. Might be a slot guy as well. uclabruins . com Player Bio: Terrence Austin - UCLA OFFICIAL SITE
2009 - Saw action in 13 games with 12 starts ... Earned second-team All-Pac-10 honors as a kick returner ... Ranked third on UCLA single-season all-purpose yards list with 1,818 (he is the record-holder with 1,878 yards - 2008) ... His 43 kickoff returns ranked No. 2 (he had 46 in 2008) and his 33 punt returns ranked tied for second ...
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
I really like the OL picks as well, but my favorite pick, aside from Williams of course, is Dennis Morris. My initial reaction was "Oh no, another Eddie Williams, Manuel White type pick"...Then I watched his highlight video. I know highlight videos only show the upside, but this dude has ridiculous upside....I counted at least two blocks where he blew the helmet off of the defensive player, numerous blocks where he drives the defender directly to the dirt and a few blocks where he lays out the unassuming defender, reminiscent of the Sean Taylor block on that guy from the Lions in '07. The guy also plays through the whistle. There seems to be no quit in this guy. He also seems to have a great set of hands and an ability to make things happen after he catches the ball. If I'm Mike Sellers, who I'm a big fan of, I'm worried about my job.

I will not judge this admin till after this year...but it sure looks like a mentality of realism and sanity has taken hold!!!
lets get this season started |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 4-7
Thank God!!!!! Once more I have to eat some crow. These OL picks are huge. Our new FO does indeed have a plan and have addressed our number one need bigtime. I don't know if these guys will pan out, but at least they are addressing a major sore spot on the roster. I freaked when they picked up the WR from UCLA. I am 165 lbs, and even if I was a gifted WR like TO I am not sure I would want to play in the NFL. That guy gets nailed by an OLB and he is a goner!!!!!
