Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Not sure I"m buying that. He wouldn't have went undrafted simply due to character concerns alone. Much of the concerns were about his football ability as well.
Mayock calls Vontaze Burfict a “non-draftable kid” | ProFootballTalk Mayock was probably one of the only few that graded him as undraftable. (on talent alone) Now, whether Vontaze used that as motivation to be better is another story all together. We really don't know if he's going to sustain this or go back to being aloof with his career once he thinks he's made it.
In the beginning of the draft talk (around January) he was a first round talent by a lot of scouts. I remember a lot of mock drafts coming out and he would always be penciled in for the ravens pick which was 30th including kipers. Now as the draft process went along he fell and kept falling. Cause of the combine, questions of work ethic and on the field questions (like the most flags in the NCAA for unsportmans like conduct). It will be interesting to see but it seems he got in shape and I'm sure the bengals are happy to have him. |
Troy Polamalu weighs 210 pounds. Tyrann Mathieu weighs 175 pounds.
If we draft Mathieu as a CB I'll be fine with it, even though I think there are better CB prospects out there. He might make it at CB but a 175 pound safety isn't going to hold up physically in the NFL.
I was referring to Polamalu's playing style, as far as weighing 175lbs, I dont see why he can't put on 10-15 pounds of muscle. |

If he is drafted before the 3rd I'll be highly surprised. Mid 20's I definitely don't see that happening.

Quantarus Smith DE/OLB Western Kentucky is a guy that intrigues me. He had 3 sacks against alabamas offensive line (the most they gave up to one player all year; and they went against Jarvis Jones and DeMontre Moore who are both top 10 prospects) Also just for pure fun [YT]E4Fd_ULpSs8[/YT] Manti is the one in the fireman hat and Barrett Jones (another prospect I've completely forgotten about) is in the front holding up a dumbell in the beginning |

Looks like we know the Chiefs aren't selecting a QB. I'm really shocked their GM came out with this.
“There is no quarterback where personnel guys can definitely say, ‘He’s a first-round pick,’ ” Dorsey said. “There were so many inconsistencies in the collective group. There was not one guy that stood up and said, ‘I’m the guy in the position this year.’ There really wasn’t one clear-cut guy. “There are too many technical flaws, scheme flaws. There are so many different variables that there are a lot of people all over the place on naming the top four or five guys and who those guys would be.”
From his stance, these guys probably are not even 1st round material, never the less worthy of a #1 spot. I said earlier they go with the Utah DT, but I probably will change that to Luke Joeckel. |

No wonder some of the folks here discount the Bleacher Report! Where did they find this guy Matthew Brown? According to Brown, Johnathan Cyprien lacks ideal size and range. In fact, Cyprien is 6'1" 210 lbs and has great range. Brown claims that TJ McDonald is a big hitter. Please! TJ plays like he was an honor student at the DeAngelo Hall School of Tackle Avoidance. Also, Brown thinks we should consider Ricky Wagner and some guy named Wetzel, both of whom, he admits, are slow-footed and can't pass protect. I don't know anything about Wetzel but I'm certain that Wagner is terrible. Does Brown even know that we are a zone blocking team that requires faster linemen? Besides, who needs an OT who can't pass protect? He mentions some good players, too, but even a blind squirrel... |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
TJ McDonald can hit though. He's one of the more underrated SAF in this class.
Its players like TJ that makes this a deep draft at SAF. You should check him out there are plenty of his game cut-ups on youtube. |
