Agreed about the DC Council. Maybe PG where the stadium is, or Ashburn where the headquarters are, but DC doesn't have any leverage or hold over the name "Washington". As alot of stuff is, the DC Council act is just political showmanship...
The DC Council is sadly acting as representatives of that community.

The Skins don't play in DC anymore, makes sense to change the name to Maryland or Virginia, so as not to degrade themselves and the fans by association with idiots like the DC council.

Seriously, as far as I know, the D.C. Council does not have the authority to demand that the Redskins organization disassociate itself from D.C. by removing the word "Washington" from the team's name.

Dan Snyder is adamant that he will "NEVER" change the name of the team and I'm betting that he means the "Washington" part, as well.
It's obvious we will be using MLB slick tactics and be the Richmond Redskins of the DMV (aka Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)

I doubt this happens. Plus, our WR corp is pretty full already.

Well, if he is cut, I think he would be an excellent addition on the cheap. He excelled under Shanny and, with Moss getting long in the tooth, would be someone who could step into the slot receiver position. I think he certainly has the ability to challenge Briscoe or Robinson for the 5th/6th WR slot. As with everything this year, much is dependent on the how he would affect the cap numbers.

Im pretty sure Royal will be a Redskin within the hour of being cut from the Chargers. If this was to happen

Can't hurt to bring him in on the cheap for a look.

He was stupid to go to San Diego last year.

Briscoe hardly was active. Why do so many fans not realize that it's but so many balls to throw around? It's not realistic to line up 4+ WRs every down when this team runs so well and had very talented TEs and a FB. Royal is simply not needed. Nor is Briscoe. I imagine he's frustrated for that very same reason. I can understand concern for Moss getting up there in age but, he's very solid and consistent. There will be an opportunity in the future to find his successor. There's simply no need to stockpile WRs that won't see playing time.

Well you need at least 5 active, usually 6 on the roster.

You kinda have to think about the future as well with the cheap acquisition of a player like Royal. Moss is gone at the end of the season, Royal could slide into his most effective position at the slot. Also kick return experience, another weakness of ours. Back up slot receiver is a need and getting Royal on the cheap would be a win imo.
