I don't like RG3 but this is probably one of the saddest things i've ever read about an NFL player...
Is it being overly critical to say that if he is going to spend time after practice working it should NOT be on punting???

I detect sarcasm. Lol. I was being 95% funny. I just think it is a strange thing, but 5 % of me really thinks that with all the talk surrounding his work ethic and future here - i dont know - practice throwing the ball through a tire if u are all alone and still out on the practice field. Do they still use tires?

It wasn't long ago when you were giving me the goat award for saying the same thing. Yeah, probably overly critical. Doesn't sound like anything more than someone who needs some alone time - to try to wrap his head around how he got "here". I mean no one saw this coming 24 months ago.

I imagine it's hard for him to swallow, but in the end I think benching him will turn out to be the best thing for him. He may not realize it yet, but Gruden does. Robert has to get his head right. He has the physical tools, but mentally he's broken. He has no chance of regaining his mental confidence behind this O-line. Give him a rest, physically and mentally - and make him earn his way back on...sounds like a sound plan to me. And if it doesn't work out next year - move on.

And he is 24, I think that gets lost on people. These are so young with so much pressure. When I was 24 I was just starting my career on a junior level. I certainly was not suppose to be the savour of my company and do it all under the public eye.

i do not believe that he handles himself w the proper cool/calm. in this circus city we need a more daltonian head coach, someone who can answer the questions asked by the press w/o acting personally insulted and then airing some degree dirty laundry.

shut up and lead, same for griff.

Re: The everything Gruden thread

Have to be completely honest, I haven't seen anything that justifies bringing Gruden back for another year.
- He is supposed to be an offensive mind, yet the offense has regressed terribly all season.
- He is supposed to be a QB guy, yet the 2 young QB on the roster have not improved, actually gotten worse under him and he's trying to determine if Colt McCoy is the future at the QB position. Colt. Mc. Coy.
- The team is wildly undisciplined under him with personal conduct penalties (personal fouls, unsportsmanlike conduct), poor effort and way too many blown assignments to count. Add into that the loose culture and locker room from a 3-11 team.
- The team's performance has consistently gotten worse. They haven't competed since (maybe) the Minnesota game.
- In comparison to last year, this season 'feels' worse because there's nothing but apathy and disgust amongst the fanbase. Even as Shanahan was burning his way out of town, at least there was a thought among some that the right guy could turn things around to at least .500. I've never felt nor seen such a lack of hope.
- His talent evaluation skills are highly questionable at BEST, non existent perhaps. Lavaou & Chester still starting? Cutting so many draft picks and free agent signings? Seriously, what the hell is he doing?

I'm done with him and Allen. Blow the whole f'n thing up. Don't maintain continuity for the sake of continuity. This guy is a disaster.

The lack of developing players, the cutting of draft picks, and the overall undisciplined feel of the team are reason enough to can Gruden and Allen. The QB fiasco, is entirely on Gruden, the failure to 'coach up' either Griffin or Cousins is certainly icing on the cake, in terms of making the case to fire Gruden. The most egregious issue, and the greatest mistake of the season was keeping Haslett.

We dump Bicarri Rambo, and lo and behold, he has two interceptions of Aaron Rodgers, watch Rambo turn into a decent player for the Bills, while we continue to look for a safety. The lack of player development is astounding, and it appears the Redskins will be NFC bottom feeders for a long time, most likely we are in for back to back 3-13 seasons.
