Not sure if he was on the ufl (or whatever it’s called) team as a second kicker but when Blewitt got hurt he became the starter so for all intensive purposes[ he was Blewitts backup.
Guess the guy has a strong leg but isn’t very accurate. Id imagine they will have to get some other kickers in the mix and maybe we will find a reliable one.
Fella, I hate to be the grammar police here, but you've typed the same a few times, and I can't keep biting my tongue. Is it deliberate? I'd say they went with a guy that they can practice with ASAP at least, while they look for someone better. |

https://www.hogshaven.com/2024/6/4/24155174/the-5-oclock-club-player-overs-unders-for-2024-qb-wr-edition I went: Mariota starts 0.5 games- over Daniels Rush 479 yds-over Daniels rushing TDs 4.5-over McLaurin receiving yds 1,099-over Dotson receiving yds 749-under Zaccheaus targets for season 29-under What say you?
Dotson's over/under of 749 yards in a 17 game season shows just how bad that pick was. I wanted Hamilton badly but actually thought Dotson would be pretty good. I really hate RR. Fans wanted Hamilton, fans wanted Darrisaw as well as Gonzales. Ron gave us Dotson, Davis and Forbes. This is not revisionist history, we said it pre-draft. It's pathetic when message board posters knew more than a professional talent evaluator. |

Actually Hamilton was available when it was our turn but then we decided to trade down, and then Ravens pounced on him. |
Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
I'm not ready to give up on Dotson but last year was disappointing. Huge year for him. Yes would have loved Hamilton. Kid is bigtime.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
It’s hard to believe how bare a cupboard RR left behind. Just horrible. That’s why we have like 40 new faces.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Hamilton was the dude I wanted. We blew that one.
RR the GM was way more destructive to the commanders then RR the HC
Agreed. He was fired by Carolina and Snyder, basically, begged him to come and gave him both roles. Snyder's reputation was already destroyed and was barely given the time of day by anyone else for the jobs.

Rivera is one of the worst "GMs" in NFL history. Incompetent from front to back. An absolute disaster.
But you know what, all roads of shit have lead us to new ownership, new HC, and new front office. And a possible franchise QB. So fuck it, let's ride. |

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Sounds like we made a great move signing Dylan Thompson away from the Texans...
"Why would Thompson leave the Texans? I guess the biggest question is: Why did Thompson depart? The young players like Stroud, Anderson Jr. and others have spoken glowingly about how he’s helped their transition to the pros, both on and off the field. Receiver Nico Collins has worked off to the side with the former quarterback Thompson since they both arrived in 2021 and continued into this offseason. Collins could be seen yearly, working on different types of catches to fine-tune his game. While Thompson may not be the main reason why Collins blossomed into the talent that he’s become, it does illustrate his value in different facets. Three years in Detroit followed by three years in Houston. Maybe he felt his path had run its course in the bayou city and he was looking for a new challenge. It may have been due to business or personal. We may never know. What we do know is that the Texans lost a talent from their organization today and a great person. Washington deserves kudos for adding Thompson as he’s an ideal get if you’re looking to spread enthusiasm and character through an organization with plans on a culture change." |
