Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
The refs were just horrible in this game. That pick that was called incomplete was one of the worst calls of the year.
I agree totaly with you and the Colts should have never had that second chance in the game. They where beat in every part of the game and the Ref's even tried to help them. I will be real intrested to hear the head of the Ref's explain this call on the NFL network.
1. No one touched him.
2. The ground didn't cause a fumble. 3. He LOST the ball before making a football move. I thought the call was on the spot. In all honestly that wasn't a fumble and if it isn't a fumble it's an incomplete pass!
I tend to agree with you. I think that in this situation, you have to look at Polamalu's entire string of actions. He caught the ball, fell, and rolled. The ball came out during the roll; the knee was down. I agree that it was sketchy, but also think that, cosidering the rule, was called correctly during the review. |
Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
The Indianapolis Chokes! No matter how they light it up during the regular season, and P. Manning is one of my favorite QBs to watch, one can't ignore the fact that they have choked in the playoffs for the last 4 years now. Pity!

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
Props to Cowher and his crew....this team is always in contention and they schemed the Colts right out of the playoffs. Steelers=DEFENSE and we all know that DEFENSE wins championships.

Don't know if you noticed how the refs in the other game were just trying to hand it to Chicago. They called a TD for T. Jones when he clearly let the ball out of his hand well before he crossed the goal-line. Didn't call a clear delay of game on Chicago's offense - funny how Grossman threw a pick on that very play to end Chicago's hopes. |

The rule says that the player has to maintain control of the ball while on the ground, his knee was still on the ground when the ball popped out so technically he was still on the ground. A stupid rule (like the tuck rule) but thats the way its worded. I think Indy thought they had become a physical football team but the Steelers showed them what physical football is. I think the Steelers are a real threat to go all the way. |
Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
Actually the call was a mistake and the NFL admitted it today:
