Re: Third QB For 2006
I think the Skins should look at one of the Huard brothers or a Detmer, they've pretty much taken over the #3 spot on QB depth charts for their entire careers...lol. Honestly, though, who really cares who the number 3 quarterback is? What effect will they have on anything? I don't really remember seeing much of Campbell this year. Hopefully it doesn't make a difference who the #3 quarterback is.
Tell that to the Jets! |
Re: Third QB For 2006
I think Damon Huard was QB #3 for the Chiefs last year. So he knows the system
I kinda just threw the Huards out there cause I know they're in the NFL, but I don't know if either have ever seen the field. I think it's kinda funny that he was on the Chiefs.
Tell that to the Jets!
I said hopefully. |
Re: Third QB For 2006
how bout Mike McMahon, Sage Rosenfels, or AJ Feely? Before you grill me remember we're discussing third string clipboard holders
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
I'd say we just draft someone out of the woodwork. After his season last year, Chris Leak could drop to the 3rd or 4th round I would think, I've always been a huge fan of him. I could be way off with that 3rd/4th statmenet though.
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
I think Leak said he was returning to Florida. And I'd be against drafting someone, that would give us essentially 2 QBs (along with Campbell) with no playing experience. Too much of a risk I think
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
I'd prefer someone with experience in Saunders' system. I don't know if Huard or Collins are real possibilities, but it's something to look into.
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
I'm leaning towards drafting someone or grabbing someone from Europe, the Arena league, or the best QB training ground around - the CFL.
The only vet I would really want to see here would be Flutie. I love the guy and I thinks he brings a lot of intangibles wherever he goes. The last thing I want to do is spend a lot of money on a vet that will ride the bench anyways (assuming Campbell is indeed ready). If we're looking for a vet QB who is cheap - well we already have that - his name is Patrick Ramsey. |
Re: Third QB For 2006
How bout Charlie Whitehurst from Clemson. I played high school ball with him and he was pretty good. His only problem was he wasn't very mobile at the college level (high school made him look like a dual threat QB).
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
i don't care who our third quarterback is, as long as he never sees the playing field. That would be a good thing for us next year.
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
kitna wants to start and will cost too much for a #3, wright might not be a bad pick, but he's really not a passer in any way. S wallace would be better if he's available... he has real speed.

Re: Third QB For 2006
why are we talkin about this it will probably be a guy from a division 1AA or division 2
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
Joe always complains about depth issues. So when we pick up Randle El, he can be 3rd string. And Im dead serious.
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
R-el for 4th qb maybe... if he's #3 and has to go in, who's he throwing to? TJ? screw that.
|
Re: Third QB For 2006
todd collins will be our 3rd qb to help mentor JC and help installing saunders offense and terminology
