well I know I remember there being talk during the 2004 draft of the steelers being interested in ramsey and a pick for pittsburg's 1st rounder.

on a side note about trades, would anyone be opposed to shopping Ramsey and Betts for Ricky Williams and his extremely cheap contract. he would definitely provide a great change of pace when Portis needs a breather and showed this past year he is willing to take a back seat to a younger more talented rb. just a thought.

...except maybe Greg Williams. [url="http://www.profootballtalk.com"]www.profootballtalk.com[/url] mentions in passing that the Redskins made a major play for Ray Lewis last week with an offer that involved both players and picks. I don't know how credible these guys are. They seem like a clearinghouse for spin from desperate agents. Did anyone else hear about this? From the rumormill:

"Still, don't expect a trade to happen. The Redskins offered a package of draft picks and various players last week, and the Ravens weren't interested."

These guys were right on about alot of things.....McNabb's hernia, us trying to get Campbell, ST getting in trouble...they are more credible then people give them credit for. I would LOVE to see us get Ray unless it came at 56's expense. 56,52, and 53 is a scary group of LB's!!!!!!

A. Ricky is gone for a year
B. He is more of a speed guy then a power guy right now and not only would Betts be a better change of pace right now, he is also a hell of alot cheaper and younger.

ray wants serious money, anyone looking for a big check is definately NOT coming here this year. PFT gets maybe 5%-10% of the rumors right, eventually even blind squirrels find a nut.

When skinsfan made that post i don't think ricky was gone for year yet.
