Close call. But the MVP, to an extent, is a team award. Alexander's team made it to the Super Bowl.

which is unfortunate, because if its a team award, it should be called the MVT.

i thought that smith was more valuable as an individual to the team.

If we continue to improve our passing game, I think there's no question his numbers will improve. Saunders' offensive changes, in general, will likely improve Portis' numbers. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 1,700 yard season (at 4.7 ypc) out of Portis if he doesn't get injured.
