Re: LaVar to the Bengals- Maybe
Looks like the Giants may make a push for him.
Giants | More about Arrington Tue, 14 Mar 2006 05:18:34 -0800 Paul Schwartz, of the New York Post, reports there are some interesting theories floating around regarding free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) and the New York Giants. One involves a conflict of sorts between the front office, which is leaning toward trying to sign Arrington, and the coaching staff, which is not sure he will fit in with the defensive scheme. Arrington, who has spent all six of his NFL seasons with the Redskins, is a superb athlete, but tends to freelance on the field and that may have turned off the coaching staff. Arrington also may be at his best playing in a 3-4 defensive scheme, but the Giants are a 4-3 team that relies on the pass-rushing skills of DEs Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora. "It doesn't fit," said someone with knowledge of the situation. Another factor is Arrington is seeking a big contract, which would limit how active the Giants can be in free agency.
The 3-4? When the hell has he ever played in the 3-4?
Giants | Team may make an offer for Arrington Tuesday Tue, 14 Mar 2006 05:15:24 -0800 Mike Garafolo, of the Star-Ledger, reports agent Carl Poston said he spoke to the New York Giants Monday, March 13, but the team did not make an offer for free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins). Poston expects the Giants to make a proposal Tuesday, March 14. There's also a chance Arrington could visit other teams.
|

First off pain, I was here for quite a while before I registered. Second, I have followed his posts. I haven't seen any posts where he has expressed any feelings or frustrations regarding LA that are unique or merit you bringing the smack. Lots of people are most highly pissed off that the management showed him the disrespect they did and didn't do more to make this thing work. |
Re: LaVar to the Bengals- Maybe
I wouldn't say I'm happy about LaVar being gone, more like indifferent.
Cap-wise you have to love it though. |

Not a lot of people do that. Its amazing how I can say things about how I feel about this whole situation, my opinions, and I get labled as a LaVar lover and Redskin hater. Some people just want everyone to agree with them, and if you dont your wrong. I have come to terms with that out here. Just pisses me off from time to time, especially when my loyalty to the skins is questioned. Hey, I wish he could have stayed, but financially we couldn't do it, and I believe personality issues were also the reason, no matter who was as fault they just couldn't survive together. It happens. I hope he does well with the next team, just not against us. |
Re: LaVar to the Bengals- Maybe
Glad you took to time to try and post a link to what I have said. I must be under your skin. So what, I like the guy. Like I have said many, many, many freakin times, I like LaVar before he was with Washington. I thought it was a bonus we drafted, so I am pissed about the way things have gone down the last couple of year. I wanted him to stay here, just because you didn't doesn't mean either of us is wrong in our OPINIONS, but It doesn't mean you or I are right in our OPINIONS about who should stay and who should go. Because I think a certain way on how he was treated, or why I think he didn't play doesn't mean shit. I am a Redskin fan and have been for a long time, before you were born. Dont question my loyalty to this team, I travel from Charlotte NC every home game, I pay triple the ticket cost to sit in the bottom of the stadium. So dont call me out about how I feel about this team. That is the most rediculous thing you could do. You dont know me. I live, eat, breathe, sleep the Redskins.
Things I am tired of: 1) Watching you spell the word "ridiculous" with an e 2) You getting all up in arms when someone disagrees with you 3) Your whining. I beg of you, stop all three. |

I can't stand this argument, it just makes no sense to me. Do more to make it work? Um, we went to the playoffs with him playing one of the smallest roles on the team in his entire career last year. We needed his cap room more than we needed him, and that's the bottom line. It's not about trying hard to make things work. It's about giving the team the best chance to win. By no means do I think Ramsey ever got the opportunity Brunell got. But you know what, them's the breaks. We went 10-6 under Brunell and the rest is history. I don't care what's fair for the individual players, that's not a TEAM mentality. |

I might argue my opinion, sometimes I may call someone out but not all the time like you and some other people. Yeah I wouldn't want to hert yer feelings, #56Fenetic. First, I don't attack you, I attack your opinions when they don't make sense to me (and that's quite often). There is a difference, but you don't seem to see that. You're the one that makes it out to be an actual attack on you. A discussion board is meant for the expressing of opinions and debating. That includes open criticism of the opinions of others. If you can't get with that you shouldn't be here, man. It's a general rule, if you come to a message board that is viewable by the entire internet population to post an opinion that will be read by all who come across this site, then your opinion is by definition open to interpretation, support, or criticism by any who wish to respond. The second you put your opinion on the board, you're making it public. And it's the public's right to respond. How you choose to interpret that response is up to you, but apparently you're content to whine about it. |

Sometimes though you think people are giving you crap when they're not. Case in point: I think I gave a pretty normal response to your question here, I didn't give you crap: http://www.thewarpath.net/showpost.php?p=158211&postcount=146 You apparently took it the wrong way http://www.thewarpath.net/showpost.php?p=158213&postcount=147 Matty stepped in http://www.thewarpath.net/showpost.php?p=158215&postcount=148 And you REALLY took that the wrong way http://www.thewarpath.net/showpost.php?p=158216&postcount=149 I'm not questioning your loyalty to the Redskins or the value you can bring to our discussions. But you can't take things so personally. |

I don't care what's fair for the individual players, that's not a TEAM mentality.
My arguement isn't a football one. It is a business and fan relations one (fan relations is an area where I am extremely down on Skins management). They sold us this player super hard. Millions of loyal Skins fans drank the #56 Kool Aid. Then they decided to go totally Brokeback Mountain on him, and in turn, us the fans. The problem isn't that Mommy and Daddy split up, the problem is that it was a really nasty break up with lots of screaming and yelling and everything else short of being featured on an episode of COPS. Now we're all afraid they don't love us any more. Players move on. We'll get over it. It is just unfortunate that it had to go down this way -- because of things that happened on both sides. It simply didn't need to happen like this. |
