I loved Key freaking out during the 35-7 thrashing we gave them in December. And his pouting at the end of the game when he pushed the camera was hilarious. Yeah, a real class act.

clayton said he threatened to sit out without a raise, so now he can see if anyone wants to pay him. if not, he'll probably be back.

blaming the media is a weak excuse for egotistical behavior.
That said, Keyshawn has grown up in dallas & has played well, blocks & makes tough catches. While I won't call him a "class act" he's been a good fit for them & I think they're making a big mistake if they go after TO.

I spoke about his yelling in another post and anyone who has played this game or any sport for that matter has had them we all do and is the frustration when you care so much about the team and winning that you show it more and you have it it's part of the passion of the game.

And most all players have them the ones that don't they really don't care about the game, you talk about the Bledsoe and Keyshawn confrontation that was basicly 2 players determine to win and upset about the situation and we all would react the same. When you do something stupid or something that affects your team you feel bad allready you don't need it to be rub in your face you're ok I ****ed up I'm gonna make it up.

another confrotnation tha thappen last year was when Larry Allen came up to Cortez after he missed a Extra point in the SF game and grabed his helmet and tossed him around because it was the 3 missed he had in 3 games and he was fed up because we wants to win, you don't call by anyway Allen a egoistical, bad mouth anything I just believe because of the bad rep KJ had in NYJ and in TB that the Media overplays his adburst because it sells more having him as a bad boy.

Is like Dan Snyder allways getting bad rep for his signings spreads based on the bad signing he made in 2000 and those thays but no media shows any props for the late 1 because IT SELL MORE to say Dan will be hunted by his signings.

Now something you might don't know about KJ is everytime he scored he gave the ball to 1 kid or person with disabilitys in the stands he didn't dance, he din't took some cheerleader pomp pomns, he didin't pretend to propose to a cheerleader or took a cellphone and called somebody, he just goes to the stands and gives it to the kid.... that for me shows a person with some class, and not egocentric.

OOOOHHH come on really so you would say that Gibbs is classes really becasue 2 years ago when he lost 2 Parcell after the game he didn't shook his hand.... in your terms his a REAL CLASS ACT.

people you're talking about persons that really care for the game not the show and have a lot of passion for it and don't like losing AT ALL, KJ reacted so bad in the redskins game because he knew as we all knew that the team that lose that game would be out off the playoffs.... so he was really upset because hey we lost our chance to go to the playoffs you would be upset 2 or we're you happy after Seattle beat you in the Playoffs I don't think so come on.

true, but seriously you cant say hes a class act with all of his past problems. i mean you dont just get labeled that for no reason. his TB problems and now his whining because he isnt getting paid. not really a great team player if you ask me. granted, hes passionate, but hopefully if you play in the NFL, everyone is.

He puts it all on the lline and is not scared to take a hit to make a catch. With that said he does still spout off at the wrong time sometimes but I feel it the desire to win that drives him to make the poor decisions. If Randal & LLoyd will play for us that hard we will have one hell of a group of WR's.

you can do one nice thing and still be an a-hole.

missing an XP as a kicker is a lot different than going psychotic on your QB. Or threatening to sit out if you don't get a raise (which is why he was reported to be released), or one of the many other incidents he's had over his career.

Exactly I would love to have more players like him... that put it on the line I'm really upset we let go of him, glover and campbell they all where great dallas players that allways gave all.

First off, stop twisting reality, Gibbs did shake his hand, I'll dig up pics if you'd like. I guess he turned away too quickly and the handshake wasn't satisfactory enough for some, but lets get real and talk about something more meaningful than a handshake.

There's a fine line between having passion and being a child and throwing a tantrum like KJ does from time to time.

Mattyk72 I guess we can agree 2 dissagree because for me a class act player is the one that respects an organization doesn't trash his coaches, managment and teamates (like Peyton) does everything for his team on the field.

If he has a contract problems or any problems takes care of it indoors not in the media and thats what KJ has done, you haven't heard any reports of him since he was cut trashing the organization (like LaVar, TO, others)or anything he's quiet.

You didn't heard anything on the media before he was cut that he wanted a raise (like TO, Walker, Culpepper and others using the release me or trade speach) he was quiet. that for me is a class act player, his a player that gives a lot back to the community he was 2 years in a row selected by dallas for the Walter peyton award ( I thiks is him) for his contribution to the community.

That for me is a Class act player that I would love to have back in my team. the other stuff is desire to win and compete and you didn't heard anything wrong from his teamates about those adbursts.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. When someone says class act, Keyshawn Johnson doesn't exactly come to mind very quickly.

like it or not, his time in NY & TB has a lot to do w/his time in Dallas. In fact, if it weren't for TB telling him to stay home for the rest of 03, he wouldn't have landed in dallas the way he did.
As I said before, he's acted better in Dallas, but that's all relative to how he was before when his own team found it better to suspend him w/pay rather than have even in the locker room.
Yes, Keyshawn has played for Dallas w/a lot of heart & is willing to lay it on the line for his team. The really sad part of that is that its his past actions (& maybe his present actions from what I'm learning on this thread) that make him look relatively well behaved now. Again, don't blame the media, Keyshawn has been more than willing to run his mouth about people.
As far as him giving td balls to fans, don't be sold by such media savvy. I'm not saying KJ isn't sincere, in fact I know he's done some real estate redevelopment in rough parts of LA w/good intentions, but think about it, giving a ball away at a game in no way discounts all the negative behavior he's displayed over the years.
I'll agree w/mattyk, class act does not come to mind w/keyshawn.

i think some players tend to mature, while others don't. compare keyshawn to iverson- both were really immature when they came into their respective leagues and stayed that way for a while. iverson didn't really get along with larry brown, but he has since learned a lot from the former coach (he still calls him the best coach he's ever had). AI has turned into a player that has put winning at the top of his priority list... the argument as to why the sixers aren't successful is a whole other topic.

Granted, KJ took a long time to finally show some maturity, but he finally did it in big D. I think he's highly underrated for his ability to make tough catches underneath (for first downs) and his blocking ability (which Guy mentioned above)... his past will haunt him, but at least he's trying to rectify it somewhat.
