Re: Lavar to the Giants?
I think it will be okay. GW seemed to adjust well in the second giants game last year to counter Pierce's knowledge of his system. The key probably would be - not to become predictable in alignment and playcalling.
I agree we will be OK but you have to remember Pierce was injured and did not play in the second game. I think Saunders making changes in the O Pierce will have less knowledge of our system and we do not have any evidence this is even true.

The first game was really emotional for the Giants, and it was a tough road game for us. That first long run of Tiki's seemed to take the wind out of our sails early, advantage Pierce. However, being two years removed the advantage shifts to GW, he of oh so many looks and blitzes. I agree, the addition of Saunders negates any inside info Lavar and Pierce and any other ex-Skins may have had. I'd hate to see Pierce and Lavar together, it'd be like hearing your ex-girlfriend just married your high school nemesis |

Actually I was referring to Pierce's knowledge of the skins defensive system and this knowledge helped the giants offense the first game. He has less knowledge about the redskins offense, even though he was able to get some looks and experience against it in practice - but it changed somewhat last year and yet again this year. |
Re: Lavar to the Giants?
does anyone know if the meadowlands is grass or turf?im not sure why anyone would say the giants have a good defense?after a mediocre carolina offense took them apart in the playoffs

Re: Lavar to the Giants?
not so good for the knees?
|
Re: Lavar to the Giants?
They say it's safer then grass. I don't know, I never played on it.
|
Re: Lavar to the Giants?
That really depends, some say its safer than grass while others say its not. And they have been tests done by both parties, and both prove their own point. Basically its not verified.

Re: Lavar to the Giants?
I just heard on the radio (980 AM) that apparently Lavar is about to sign a 6 yr deal w/ the Giants.
Sorry fellas, I have no link or details on the contract. If anyone finds something related, please help me out and post it.
I'm trying to find a link to the LaVar signing with the Giants. Last report I saw was that talks were still at a standstill with LaVar and that the G-men were bringing in Chad Brown for discussions. Dosen't seem likely had they already signed LaVar would they still be looking for LB's. |
Re: Lavar to the Giants?
Lavar knows that this is his last chance to get paid.

Re: Lavar to the Giants?
Well, we know he won't be wearing #56 if he signs with the VAgiants.

I mean Julian Peterson got 7 years $54 mil ? Lavar couldn't find a good deal. Or is he looking for that much, or is it that he really doesn't want to play anywhere else ? I don't care really, I wouldn't be suprised if The Danny brought him back but I don;t see that happening. Re: Lavar to the Giants?
I'm not going to pile on Lavar but it seems like he has made some poor decisions.. Essentially paying to get out of his contract when they wanted to bring him back hasn't worked out the way he wanted it to. I'm sure he expected to go right out and get a Peterson like contract but from what I'm hearing he's getting offered 2-3 year deals with heavy incentives.. Also do you think the fact that he's still represented by the Postons is impacting his contract status? Nobody likes dealing with those clowns and after last time any owner/GM knows that the details of the contract are going to be reviewed to death.

Re: Lavar to the Giants?
I just wish he would sign somewhere so this drama ends.
LaVar surrounded by drama yet again, what a surprise. |
Re: Lavar to the Giants?
He will sign somewhere, but not for near the money he is looking for. Hopefully some AFC team will put alot of $$ on the table and get him out of our conference.
