Still, I believe Clemons will win the SLB job.

What ever happened to the trash can? Price tag too high?

I think this definately says were drafting a Cornerback. Holdman will hold his own. He won the Chicago game for us last year. he tipped the pass that Marshall intercepted when the bears were in field goal range. Just a positive, something we all should focus on.

I think we have a bunch of positions we are looking at, corner being one. Safety is a possibility if the coaching staff fears Taylor might be convicted. Of course, I'm beating a dead horse by saying that.

My guess at the current moment is still LB.

Aren't we pretty deep at LB now. i could see us drafting one on the 2nd day but not with our 2nd rounder now. who knows anything could happen.

I 2 believe clemons will win the other starting spot on the weakside so I guess this isn't too bad as a backup signing, but last year it was just really weird to never hear his name last year in correlation to both good or bad play. I still wouldn't be suprised to see a mid round pick go towards an olb on another lb project for GW and company.

I'd be really surprised to see this...cause we traded away all of our mid-round picks! :laughing-

Be careful. we could easily throw away our 2nd rounder away on some mid round picks. You never know what could happen. Its an enigma within itself...lol

So you are saying that we could throw away our second round pick for some third round picks? Humm picks in round three... I would question that... I would Question 3...:food-smil

I don't understand how this signing would upset anyone. The current linebacker situation is iffy at best. I have a suspicion that they didn't sign him for big money so if he improves significantly and becomes a contributer as a starter it is a brilliant move. If he looks awful in the preseason (which I am betting won't happen) then you release him.

Everyone needs to accept that #56 is gone and things will be just fine.

I think Grim21Reaper says it best. Lavar was an icon for this organization for such a long time. Nobody unless it is a alreay proven probowler will ease this situation until somebody steps up. we are not going to have a proven probowler fill that position so expect someone to step up whether it be Holdman, Mcune, Campbell or clemons. We still have a great defense in my opinion. Every defense has some sort of a weakness. People make great plays and then they blow coverage or allow a big run. Our D is good enough and consistent enough to help this team make it to the super bowl no matter who plays at LB. We have the depth. Just lets wait and see. Someone out of those four i listed above will breakout and we won't hear about releasing lavar any more. Enough said.

I wouldn't look past us doing so for a third this year and maybe a 2nd next year if they don't see anyone that really sticks out or get a really good offer. plus they could also even trade something from next years draft plus our 5th or 2 of our 6ths for a 3-4th round pick.

Our pro bowler is Marcus Washington. The SLB spot doesn't have to be as good as it was when Lavar played. As an offense, it's impossible to pick on a single linebacker spot. You can run at a weak defensive end. You can throw at a weak corner. But offensively, there's no way to isolate a weak LB, in the run game at least. The system should account for the back out of backfield plays.

Pastabelly says that the base salary is for the veteran minimum.

I think this is a great move.
