well put my friend. i think that sums it all up perfectly. lets talk about him once he makes a game changing play against the skins...then it deserves some discussion. |

I think the reason that Lavar has been brought up again is because of the interviews that he is allowing. It seems to me that he is drawing attention because that is what he is attracted to: the spotlight. I just think that if a player truly thinks it's a fresh start, then it's time for him to let the stuff in the past go. To me, he should just put his head down and get to work and stop talking until the first big play he makes. |

And then he ignores the New York media and refuses to answer questions and they label him a Premadonna? Come on, it's not like he's calling press conferences or something. The media of your new city sticks a microphone in your face and asks you simple questions and you want him to blow them off? We don't expect that of any other player in the NFL, why would we expect it of Lavar? I've said it before, I'll say it again........for as much press as this "breakup" has gotten, all parties have behaved very well. Lavar has been given opportunity after opportunity to bash the Skins and he hasn't. How many other players who went from pro bowler to injured to benched would be so gracious? It's just getting absurd to me that some people actually think he's been doing anything wrong in this whole situation. |

The interview looks to have been planned (and he seems to be a more than willing participant). The interview was of Lavar and the reporter, one-on-one, in a seemingly private room. |

Ok, fair enough. Even still, I just don't understand the standard that everyone is trying to hold him up to. |

He may be having a hard time with some of the rough times recently with his situation (injuries and clash with coach(es)) - given all of the individual success that he has had in the past. In a way I am torn between rooting for him to do well in NY and rooting against him. Honestly, I am more inclined to root against him, because to me if he does well there then that would mean the redskins made a big mistake (and I never want that to happen). |
Re: Do you think Lavar is Okay.....
Oh, I WILL be rooting against him. I just hate seeing ex-Skins do well outside the organization.

He's healthy again, and 2. NY is simply a better fit. To me, it just became obvious fairly early on that Gregg Williams's system doesn't fit Lavar, and Lavar doesn't fit Williams's system. And that's ok. There's nothing wrong with that. Like Lavar said in the beginning of his interview......it's no different than any other job. Sometimes there just comes a time when you know that it's the right time to move on. So for me, if Lavar tears it up, it just means he found the right fit for him. At the same time, it doesn't mean he would have had the same success for the Skins. In fact, he probably wouldn't have because Lavar and the system here just don't fit anymore. |

There are some scenarios that I expect to play out. Until then, I will probably reserve judgment. |

I agree 100%. I kept suggesting the skins trade him a couple of years ago while they could have got something worthwhile in return and everybody on this site told me I was nuts, LA was a skin for life, on and on. Now its impossible to find anyone that will say anything good about him, its amazing what a change of clothes will do. |

Those are the keys to all of it. The jersey he wears changes perspective. And time changes things - the redskins are not the same team, and he's not the same player. |
Re: Do you think Lavar is Okay.....
Thing is I'm not sure that trading him was ever a viable possibility due to his huge contract.
