What Leinart did was provide a spark to his team. The Cardinals aren't that good, but Leinart provided a spark, something our team is missing with MB under center. Once again, I find myself hoping for just the slightest injury, nothing serious, but maybe an ankle sprain. When Brunnell was taken back for x-rays, I actually pepped up thinking maybe Collins could come in and save the day....damn speedy golf carts at FedEx! The season will be lost before Gibbs benches MB.
I don't understand why there's a distinction between losing games through inaction, and losing them from fumbling. A loss is a loss, and if the key player isn't making the key plays, a change needs to be made. And it wouldn't make sense to pull Brunell before the bye, but Gibbs is talking like benching him is out of the question.
It's pretty easy to make the distinction actually. Warner was directly contributing to the Cards losing with his turnovers. Right now Brunell isn't doing much to help win a game, but he's not the ultimate reason for the offensive struggles, despite what the narrow minded pundits want to say.

I agree with that, MB isn't the only reason we're losing but he is one of the big reasons, along with a D that can't stop anybody.

JUst as a side not JC preseason numbers:
Pass at: 51
Pass Comp: 26
TD's: 0
Intercep: 2
Tot Passing yrds:270
Average per attempt:5.29
Average per completion: 10.38
Maybe theres a reason JC is not the starter at this time. I know it was preseason playing against alot of 3rd stringers and we where playing 3rd stringers. I do agree JC needs time in a game but its just too early in the season for him and we don't even know what they see in him at pratice. He was not even warming up whe brunell got hurt.

This is precisely why we need to make a change now. You're either part of the problem or part of the solution, and we need production from the qb spot. The skill positions seem to be set, or at least we're locked in with our receivers and backs.

Brunell isn't the ultimate reason for the offensive struggles, but he's very high on a very short list. Cooley has disappeared, which may be why teams play so much Cover 2 on us. We've got no answers, other than a mobile qb who could keep some of these plays alive. Put me in the Campbell corner, he's going to play so why not today?

Jason Campbell can thank his lucky stars to have been drafted by the Redskins under Joe Gibbs' leadership. Campbell has played in six different systems in six years, and he is now in the most complex by far, one that Mark Brunell with all his experience has not mastered yet. Gibbs will keep Campbell in a learning mode so that when he comes in, he will succeed.

If you put Campbell in now, you risk destroying his tree of confidence with all the tree boring worms that fans will pour onto him in the thousands when he fails to play with extraordinary effectiveness. Right now Campbell's confidence tree needs to get stronger and taller before he is ready to go.

I am amazed with the grace that Mark Brunell holds up under the antipathy sent at him. Even an experience player like him is going to be effected by all that criticism and lack of support.

The fact is that just like fans can be the 12th man, they can also have the effect of making us play like we have only 9 or 10 men, by harming the players with all this scapegoating.

Those numbers don't mean much to me, but the only reason Campbell was not warming up is that Collins will be finishing out games when Brunell gets injured during a game. Campbell will play if he has a week to prepare. And no time is better than after the Colts beat the sh** out of us this Sunday..........that will give Campbell 2 weeks to get prepared for a home game vs. Dallas. Start Campbell's career.........I don't think he'll take us to more wins, but I think its time for him to now learn on the field.

He didn't warm up because he's the emergency QB, he can't play unless both guys ahead of him went down.

I 'm intrigued by what you would have the fans do? Each game starts off with 90k Redskins fans cheering for Brunell and all of the Skins. Do the fans boo? Yes they do.

As far as "sparing" Campbell's confidence, spare me. How much confidence does anybody gain with a clipboard? At the end of the day it's football, and if he was going to be in a spot where he couldn't succeed, maybe I'd worry about his confidence. But he's got plenty of weapons, we've made the investment in him, and the starter is not winning games. He'll have to take his lumps sooner or later, why wait?

And yes, I'm scapegoating. Brunell, Saunders, Lloyd, Cooley, the O-line, and anyone else who has underperformed. Gibbs. 2-4, we're not out of it but the schedule doesn't get any easier, so my question is why wait?
right on, I thought the crowd was a factor sunday, in titans favor
Maybe they should drug the crowd so that they don't care that the team was letting a very winnable game slip away, yet again. They should be cheering their little hearts out when the team goes 3 and out for the 10th time in a row because the QB short hops a 10yrd hook or because the O-line fails to pick up a blitz. Everyone in burgundy and gold should stand up and cheer when the defense gives up 3rd and long or commits a personal foul that continues a drive. They should be proud that our once great defense let a rookie QB on an 0-5 team lead a game winning drive and they should be lighting off fireworks when our QB throws up a jump ball on first down with about a minute left to end the game rahter than trying to actually move the ball down field into FG range.
The fans at the stadium are all a bunch of idiots and they are the reason we lost this game just like they are the reason we lost the game to the vikings.
