Re: CP broken hand
to me portis didnt seem to happy this year, even at the start of the season. i hope he doesnt want out, but i wouldnt be too suprised if he pulled a coles. portis just seems like a guy who cant stand to lose, even moreso than most atheletes, and if he takes too much losing he cracks

Re: CP broken hand
I have a few screws in my thumb to fix the joint and torn ligament there. Portis won't be playing anytime soon if he has the surgery I heard reports about. I couldn't even hold a pen or do ANYTHING with that hand for a while.
We COULD have hope for a late run to the playoffs with Portis...but with 6 losses and NO Portis...I say we start Campbell now and run with Betts and Duckett a lot. Campbell will miss Portis' blocking though. Can Duckett block? At his size, he BETTER be able to. |
Re: CP broken hand
I agree. I'd rather have him 100% next season. As long as they keep him off the field during the preseason, he should come into 2007 100% healthy.
Wow, I can't believe we're already talking about next year.
The future is now. Cue Campbell. |

i think the only one happy about the style of Saunders offense is Betts. for obvious reasons. just ask Moss, Lloyd, Randle El (least he gets to pass every now and then and completely embarass MB), Cooley and Portis in private. |
Re: CP broken hand
No way in hell will this keep Portis out for 4 weeks.
It really makes me wonder what they're going to do about the offense next year. Is Saunders outta here? Or does Gibbs make him incorporate the running plays that Portis likes?
If you think this Al Saunders offense solely you need to study a little harder. This smells of Joe Gibbs and it stinks. The same offense we saw in the playoffs last year, only the Skins have more Wide outs this year. |
Re: CP broken hand
It's funny, I was talking to somebody about this and I mentioned "Remember when Emmitt Smith played with a broken hand".
I guess we don't have Emmitt do we... |

So I take you hate Joe Gibbs?
No hate. Just I am real about what is going on. Everyone wants to give him a pass on this year for what happened in the 80's. That's crap. I am a fan of good football and this year the team I love is stinking out the place. I hear Gibbs excuses for the problems but I haven't seen any of the problems fixed and that falls on the head coach. |

So your solution to the problems is what?
I'll give you the "Gibbs is God Crowd" answer. "If he is that bad he wouldn't be in the Hall of Fame" Great answer, but how does that fix the problems. Ready for the fix, Put Gibbs in as GM and bring in a younger coach. A fresh look would be "fresh"! |

And if that "younger coach" isn't successful, you just keep switching coaches, correct? |

Well he did get hurt in the first preseason game, so he's been playing catch up ever since. I think Portis saw the handwriting on the wall, and the season is too long to start off injured and expect to get healthy. Frustrated, I can see, but unhappy never. Campbell starts! |

Outside of the Cowboys game where we saw some counters, this running game is Saunders all the way. Smarten up kid. |

Smarten up kid.
Gibbs starting coaching the Skins in 1981 and that was 25 years ago. You're 33 which would make you 8 when he started coaching. So, who much Gibbs football did you grasp during his 1st tour in DC? MAybe 3 years? I went through the first 11 and now 2-1/2 sonny boy. So, I am pretty sure I can tell Gibbs coaching when I see it. Gibbs football is more than counters and someone who has watched the Skins during each of Gibbs run knows better. Keep studying oh wise one. Someday you'll know what playing not to lose vs playing to win is all about. |
