This season?
I really don't see any benefit in going back to him. Unless Campbell is a complete flop or gets hurt, are there any other reasons why you think MB would be back this year?
I am pretty sure that Joe made left the possibility open during his press conference. |
Re: QB rumor on 980...
You are 100% correct. Let's say that Campbell is worse than any of us imagined. Brunell will make another appearance once his health improves.
where did you hear he was hurt? or are you talking about his arthritis? |

You can tell he is hurt. I think he has been hurt the whole season. |
Re: QB rumor on 980...
I'm not so sure that he's hurt or if he's just 37 and fighting against a broken down body.

I dont even think JC has to be a flop, hurt, etc, for MB to come back. For whatever reason Gibbs likes MB (like OBC liked Weurful) and if JC stumbles I think Gibbs will have no problems going back. Remember last year when he told everyone PR was his man but the 1st time he stumbled in came MB. Gibbs likes MB. I think JC gets at a minimum 2 games before Gibbs even considers bringing back MB. |
Re: QB rumor on 980...
No way MB comes back unless it's due to injury or Campbell being a total disaster.
Gibbs has made some questionable decisions but he's not completely nuts. |
Re: QB rumor on 980...
This season is in the tank. Time to move on in 2007 and figure out who's who? MB is not part of that "starting" equation

I wish I could agree with you. |
Re: QB rumor on 980...
Campbell has 7 starts to show that we can move forward with him. I think as long as he's not a disaster he'll be the starter next year. I hope and pray Campbell leaves nothing up for debate. I really hope he comes in and takes hold of the starting job and never looks back.
I agree. Plus, are we forgetting that Gibbs picked Campbell? So wouldn't it stand to reason he likes him as well? |

does osteoporosis count as an injury? |
Re: QB rumor on 980...
You can stick a fork into this season. It's over for the Redskins. The Skins would have to run the table to even have an outside chance of making the playoffs. Switching quarterbacks is not going to solve all their problems. The defense still hasn't created any turnovers or put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. With no significant draft picks next year, the future doesn't look good. They need to break this cycle of trading away draft picks for over-rated free agents. It will take a 2-3 years of mediocre seasons to build the team back up.

Re: QB rumor on 980...
I am excited to see what Jason Campbell can do. I wish Gibbs had made the move sooner.

Re: QB rumor on 980...
Bulger as a backup... that is really hilarious.
Hey why not just trade for Peyton and put him on the bench too!
It's no more halarious than the person that started the rumor. It's not likely he'd consider coming here as a back up, I think we all would concede to that, but that's the only way I would consider having him. Him saying no thanks to that would be what I would expest. Nothing gained, nothing lost. |
Re: QB rumor on 980...
only if campbell is a bust , we should look at leftwich or seneca wallace

why not look at a starter instead of a backup in that case? i mean, those guys are okay and pretty young, but neither one is nearly as good as bulger or green... |
