Dude, I am now convinced that you are retarded and that this is your "make a wish" to torment me on this board. How in the hell can you defend Gibbs based on his past, but in the very same breath you call for Williams' head when his defense has been top 10 the past 2 years?
NO. NO. NO. Joe Gibbs brought in Saunders. Im so sick of no one putting the responsiblity for this mess on JOE GIBBS. Gibbs is the one who overspent for Brunnell and stuck by him. GIBBS is the one who brought in Saunders. Ultimately Gibbs is responsible and its time to take responsibility. Bring in Russ Grimm.
Now that would be an interesting hire. But it aint gonna happen.

Not GW but the GM needs to go. Bad trades and signings. Smoot, Pierce, Lavar, Clark, Bring in Arch

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

The critism that Gibbs draws is totally warranted. Let's get a couple of things straight: The Redskins had a good tradition before Gibbs came here in the 80s. George Allen took the team to the Super Bowl if anyone cares to remember. I think what Gibbs did during his tenure was cement the franchise among the greatest in football.

Secondly, there seems to be an attitude that because Joe Gibbs has three Super Bowl rings, he's beyond reproach some how. I just don't get it. In three years since his arrival, the offense has been sporadic and inconsistent.

Al Saunders isn't the blame, Joe Gibbs is to blame. Daniel Snyder isn't to blame, Joe Gibbs is to blame. Gregg Williams isn't to blame, Joe Gibbs is to blame. Even when Williams fielded a top defense the past two years, we failed to give him an offense that could remotely keep pace and challenge to be a contender.

You guys can say what you will about Gibbs, but the bottom line...THE BOTTOM line is he hasn't done a good job since he has returned to Washington.
Yo Dall-assblows, Im still waiting for you to make the case, based on Gibbs work over the past 3 years, that Gibbs should stay. You haven't because you can't.
Gibbs isn't blowing coverages, missing tackles, making mistakes on the field. it is about execution.

its GW fault, we have absolutly no defense, not easy to win games when you've got no D.

i would love to see GW get fired

If he shows that he can get these guys to play well enough for us to win, I say keep him and all the vets and sign a piece or two. If the D shows no promise, we should tear it down, and start over with someone new as we become an offensive football team.

After all, if we were playing with a team of replacement players on D, it wouldn't be any worse.

It's asanine the things the people actually say when it comes to Joe Gibbs. It's beyond me.

Look if the Cowboys can fire Tom 'friggin' Landry, we can certainly send some critism Joe Gibbs way.

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

Of course Gibbs is to blame--he's the head coach. And the team president. And no doubt Gibbs would be the first to agree with that.

But we gave up over 200 yards in rushing, had two killer TOs, a few crucial droped passes, and, let's face it, Campbell did not play well today, especailly in the second half. My feeling is fix the D and get Campbell some experience. Gibbs has earned the right to stay another year, IMHO. We need to fix the player acquisition issues--Gibbs could use some help there, and let's hope he does something about it. I feel that Saunders O will work with Campbell and Portis and our WRs and Cooley. The D needs work and the kid needs to get some seasoning. Cleaning house now won't do that--that didn't work before. It's going to take time. We lost to a better team today, IMO--folks may not want to admit it, but that's how it looked to me. The solution is getting better on D and getting JC and everyone comfortable with Saunders system. That won't happen until next year, so it's going to be painful to watch the rest of the year. But firing everyone and starting from scratch is a mistake.

That's another question...,which I could throw an answer out there by the way, but it has nothing to do with the argument I'm stating. I for one am simply stating that Gibbs has not done a good job since returning.

Sir, his record speaks for itself.

Man, you've done it....my head has started to explode, blood coming out of my nose and ears. OK, listen to me carefully cause I can only respond to this idiotic argument one time. Under you're argument, NO HEAD COACH WOULD EVER GET FIRED!!!! Oh, its not Art Shell's fault the players are not executing! Oh its not Norv Turner's fault, the players are not executing! YO DUMBASS, when the players don't execute over the course of the entire year, IT IS THE COACH'S FAULT!!!!!!!!

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

Paul, I'm sure you're a good man and a die hard skins fan, but you're clearly thinking with your heart right now instead of your head. I know today's loss was another terrible dissapointment, but I think things are headed in the right direction. Let's face it we've had some devastating injuries this season, a tough schedule, and a new offensive system. I think if the skins can get some good defensive players in the draft and Jason Campbell continues to progress, next year could be very good, also the schedule will be easier with us facing NFC North and AFC East opponents. Don't forget the skins did make it to the playoffs last year and had a very good shot at getting to the NFC championship game, so Coach Gibbs obviously still knows a thing or two about coaching. What, would you rather still have Spurrier?
