carters play has steadily improved, from week to week. i think the skins would love to move marshall back outside. does anyone know if mcintosh can play inside? he is only about 240lbs, and thatguy, are there any mlb's available, via free agency, or the draft, for next season?
McIntosh is not very stout for a MLB but he's certainly versatile. Here is some pre draft info on him.

His play is beginning to improve, and it typical of why we shouldn't always be so ready to critisize when players don't always perform (initially) the way we think they should. I have always felt players should at least have the opportunity to grow acustomed, espically when a player (like Carter) changed both teams, and positions, all in one season.

I am not sold on Andre Carter. I do not think it is coincidence that we now have a 260-265 pound DE and we now suck against the run. How many running yards did we give up?

I agree with you , but believe if we found a 320 + DT to rotate and another DE to work in the line up , we could have a very good line . I think we gave up 246 yds ,,,

I've still got faith in Carter. I've seen enough out of him to think that he'll be fine, no Dwight Freeney but fine.

I agree putting a stout DT and LB next to and behind A. Carter will help but it will not solve the problem. There are certain instances when the defense is playing gap responsiblity and that exposes Carter to Offenses running right at him. PLus the DE's have the biggest gap of all to cover which is between the Offensive Tackle and the sideline. Part of the problem is Carter is so fast when he runs upfield quickly anticipating pass he leaves his gap responsibilty unprotected. That is the only problem with having a quick/light DE. Dexter Manley had the same problem early in his career until they coached it of him. However it did not take long for Dexter to over come this problem plus dexter was bigger and stronger than A. Carter.
A. Carter is smart and dedicated guy, hopefully he will learn.

I still say A. Carter currently is best suited to be a situational DE on obvious pass plays. He does not do well against the run. If that remains the same in the next couple of years, then we over paid for him.

carter was a beast today... he just abused whoever he lined up against... i think he's finding his motor again.

Carter is officially NOT a bust in my book now. I'm looking forward to seeing him next year with a more capable DE on the other side.

Just wished our Skins could've started "jelling" a bit sooner. I do feel good about guys like Carter for next season.

It sure would have been nice to see him play like this earlier in the year -- when it really mattered.

That goes for the rest of the team -- why couldn't we have seen this all season?

Here, Here! I'll drink to that!!! I apologize for my early season criticism of Carter, lumping him with Archuleta as 2006 FA busts. One thing I've grown to love about Carter, he brings a ton of effort on every play. Unfortunately if we win out, the more capable DE we bring in for the other side probably won't be Gaines Adams.
Does anyone else notice how GW allowed Carter to work through his struggles, while he pulls AA for sucking? I don't get it. You sign him to the richest contract for a S in history, he struggles in the first 8 games and he never sees the field again.

Talk about poor scouting. Apparently, they didn't even want the guy.
Carter has the 2nd and 3rd level if he makes a mistake to help out. AA is playing the 3rd level. When you get burnt back there it is usually for a TD.
