Re: 5 Bright Spots for the Reskins This Year
You know I thought about Fox - for a split second.
These five have been consistent all season long or made some game changing plays. Fox on the other hand, has sorta stood in for Vincent while injured. Not to take anything away from his contribution though.
The only thing I have against Fox is all of last week's game. He looked horrible. He consistently got torched by Crumpler, which I can excuse, but instead of trying to make a tackle on the first big completion, he tries to lay him out instead of going for the actual tackle...he's Alge Crumpler! Also, he fell down on the Norwood run when he could have at least slowed him. If he makes that play, who knows how that drive and the game go. I'm not blaming the loss on him, but he had a bad game last week. Not that that should be all he's judged on, but I don't think he's ready to start just yet. |
Re: 5 Bright Spots for the Redskins This Year
They never should have benched Brunell, not until ALL playoffs hope were lost..... Yes, I said it, and that's how I feel and I don't care if you guys don't like it!!
I guess dallas shouldn't have benched bledsoe until all their hopes for the playoffs were dashed... oh, wait... |
Re: 5 Bright Spots for the Redskins This Year
So you haven't been please with Rock, Ladell and Frost?
Those guys have played pretty well but not well enough to excite me in the midst of a 4-8 season. |

We're not Dallas, and JC isn't Romo..... And Brunell isn't Bledsoe... What's all this Dallas talk anyway? Bunch of cowgals on this site or what? |

And that's all I'm really getting at, in the midst of a bad season...these guys have done a really good job - bright spots. With Campbell it's more about what he represents than the actual numbers. |
Re: 5 Bright Spots for the Redskins This Year
Sellers is having another great year in my opiion, god i hope we keep him around for a while

Re: 5 Bright Spots for the Redskins This Year
I disagree. In my opinion, JC has been a bright spot. Obviously I was looking at more than simply statistics. I think his stats will come with time, by the way.
But it's become evident thus far his presence can change the dymanics of the offense and how we game plan some. He's made some throws already that we haven't seen in a while. If you want to look at his stats, sure we could nitpick all day long, but things like his poise, movement in the pocket and out of the pocket, his arm, down field vision are all positives. (see Jason Campbell thread by 12thMan). In the end, I think he's definitely given this team a lot to look forward to next year.
Yes he does have most of what you have said but his numbers do not say that he is this surprise. Romo has been a big surprise but I'm sorry Jason has not been. Your doing what you accused MB fans of so take off those JC glasses. |

What's all this Dallas talk anyway? Bunch of cowgals on this site or what?
Yes, deflect everything by saying someone else isn't a fan. Don't contradict the vaild argument. The fact is no one knew what JC and Romo were, they did know they weren't winning with Brunell or Bledsoe. What was the problem with pulling them? |
Re: 5 Bright Spots for the Redskins This Year
So bringing up brunell isn't beating a dead horse?
And I brought up dallas merely to show that you never really know what could happen by bringing in some fresh blood. Look at what the ravens did in 2000; they brought in dilfer because tony banks was struggling and they won the freakin super bowl. |

Like I said, his numbers is not what I was focused on or why I chose to mention him as a bright spot. And comparing Romo and Campbell is almost like comparing apples to oranges. Romo is a 4 yr pro, Campbell is essentially a rookie. |

I think he does okay when the blocking is real good but he's nothing special. He usually dosn't break tackles or make anyone miss. Whenever I see him get through a good hole I find myself thinking how much more Portis would have gained on the same play. I agree on the others though...espoecially Frost...he has been a bright spot. |

NOTE: not calling anyone bad fan!! - Reference my post - I said I think that benching Brunell was a mistake before all was lost, and I feel that way because of his experience and his ability to do the right thing in pressure situations. Playoff runs are pressure packed, so if there was even a shot at a playoff run then he should have stayed in until that shot was lost. Brunell was not playing so bad that he deserved to lose his job. Everyone just loves to blame the QB when we are losing. It wasn't Brunell, it was the Defense. This weekend the Blitz is going to kill JC. Brunell should play just so JC doesn't get his head taken off. |

So if Brunell wasn't so bad, why did Joe bench him? |
