Re: Should Archuleta play defense Sunday?
I understand that cutting him creates a cap hit, but I really don't want to see him on the field ever again.
I'm curious to see what his role will be on our team in 2007. |

I don't blame Williams for taking a chance. He thought it would work, it didn't. We all make mistakes. Live and learn. I do blame Archuletta for playing like complete crap though. I think he signed his contact and took a back seat along with all that cash.
I do agree with your point about taking chances, but at the same time they need to be well calculated chances. He's an awfully expensive mistake to have to swallow. |

Re: Should Archuleta play defense Sunday?
he needs to put on 20 pounds and play linebacker. He can tackle.

Very true. Wouldn't be the first time we endured a horrible signing. Dieon, Bruce Smith etc. Which brings up an interesting question: Is AA the worst Skins signing ever? |
Re: Should Archuleta play defense Sunday?
I don't know the exact amount but its not that bad. Redskins front office are absolute pros at setting up these "huge" contracts. They actually don't pay out until the back end.......AA aint gettin close to that $$$$$$.
That's the release fee, not his salary, and it is that big. His release fee is $9 million, which is how much we have to pay if we cut him. Check out the cap sheets: http://www.thewarpath.net/WarpathRedskinsCap.htm |
Re: Should Archuleta play defense Sunday?
Yes, he was definitely worse than Holdman or Marshall. Our secondary with him in there was a joke. It's one thing if you're not a great cover guy at LB, it's another thing entirely when you are a safety.
We have really slowed down with giving up the huge pass plays since we benched him, he must really have been THAT BAD |

That was pretty bad. Would Heath Shuler count as a draft pick signing? |
Re: Should Archuleta play defense Sunday?
Shuler was a bust, plain and simple. Every team has had their share.
But knowingly bringing in a coach killer like George and basically thumbing your nose to a guy who took your team to the playoffs just the year before was a horrible mistake. |
We know that Arch is deep deep deep in the G-dub doghouse for some reason but do you think he will get a few defensive snaps this week since we are playing in his old stomping grounds in St. Louis? I hope the Post or Times will do a Arch article this weekend so we know what's really going on with him being locked to the bench.
Are you serious when you say, "for some reason"...? |

I still think Deion was worse for the simple fact that he was a cancer to our team and showed that we would pay any amount for washed up players. That started the "fantasy football" revolution for Snyder...thankfully that is over...sort of. |

Looks like Rocky will get his first NFL start this Sunday. I'm anxious to see what he can do. Seems like # 52 is always around the ball on special teams.......another ball game starting on the outside! Good Luck ROCKY!!!! |

Rookie Linebacker Rocky Mac # 52 on the Redskins, our 1st round draft choice in 2006 that has yet to see the field in a start. He would replace Marshall or Holdman. |
