Re: Portis on 980
In a season full of unnamed sources I'm glad to see someone sticking their neck out and speaking their mind. Portis is a leader on this team, if he says things are wrong then I'm going to listen.
Hopefully getting things out in the open will allow these issues to be dealt with accordingly. These guys who don't speak out to the coaches or teammates but then rat to the media need to be dumped and fast. |

He's a true leader who shows that he really cares. Now that I think about it.....I'd rather dump Lloyd and keep Arch. At least Arch hasn't alienated his teammates. |
Re: Portis on 980
I have to agree as well. I did not agree with all CP had to say. I think he is wrong on some of his ideas. It was refreshing to hear nontheless

Re: Portis on 980
One of the most interesting points I thought Portis made was that there really aren't any team captiains. Did anyone else find that, well, a little off putting? It reminds me of the way the coaching staff is put together, at times it seems like there's no captain or general who has the final say on everything. Anyways, I've never been on a sports team that has not had team captains. Some were picked by the coaches, some were picked by players, but nevertheless, they play a very important role on any team. Do you think on game days in Baltimore Brian Billick is like, I'm sorry Ray, we know you're a great leader, and you strike fear into the hearts opposing offenses, but we're gonna let Kyle Bowler be captain today. I DON'T THINK SO!!!! We need Captains on this team to help maintain order in the locker room, and we need Joe Gibbs to be the General of the entire organization, no questions asked. Agree?

That would be even better. |

Didn't someone recently outline that possibility and the cap ramifications? Sounds like something Schneed might have done. |

They basically don't think he can play and resent the money he is getting. That comes straight from the mouth of a Redskin who said it after shaking his head and rolling his eyes. They also all think it was Arch who blabbed to Friend. |

Which Redskin was this? |
Re: Portis on 980
I'm not too worried about OUR cap situation. I'm worried about our cap situation as compared with other teams. Since so many teams have so much cap room and we have so little, I fear that only unwanted/junk players will hit the market and other teams will have first crack at them since they have far more cap room to work with.

Re: Portis on 980
By the way Portis will be a correspondent for NFL Network's GameDay covering the Giants v. Eagles game. That should be entertaining

Re: Portis on 980
I listened to the first half on the way into work this morning. Can't say I disagree with much he has said so far.
If you have a problem, and management has announced an open-door policy, you need to speak up. If you still aren't comfortable, go to a team leader. And, seriously, no captains? It's not a democracy. |

He's a derss up, party guy when they are winning and a whiner when losing. To me this is the whiner side coming out because things didnt go his way this year. Personally I'd love to see CP traded for picks. |
