Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
Totally agree GMScud, the draft is going to be a soap opera of major proportions. Anything can happen. All the speculation is just that specualtion. To be honest, knowing Snyder and co, we will draft at #6 and get a guy that wasn't on our radar or a major discussion point at least. I would like to have more picks though, and the consensus is that we will trade down, but you never know with this owner and FO!! Saturday is going to be a lot of fun!!!!!

Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
Any way you slice it, Saturday's draft could be one of the most exciting (at least the first two rounds) that we've seen in a long time. I can't wait. And just think of all the new stuff we'll have to talk about around here?? The past month or so has felt a lot like this:
Amen, just let it be done with! |
Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
I am making a vow not to come on the site until the draft is over.
The off season is so sadistic to all those dead horses. I'm leaving them alone... for now. |
Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
KGB isnt near what he once was remember that, he isnt a top DE anymore. i think many are assuming that he is a top DE still. 40 tackles 6 sacks, 30 years old by next year, undersized, hasnt been elite since 2004. take that into account

Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
We need Defensive Lineman and many of them
|
Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
I agree Knox. We need to draft 2 of them and then pick up a guard with our #3 pick. Our 6th rounder can be another D linemen also.

Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
"No way" Arizona takes him? I gotta disagree. James aging and has lost a step, and they don't have a backup who could make a viable starter. I agree that they need O-line and D, but from everything I've seen, Cleveland and Arizona are the top two suitors for Peterson. Besides, it's a two back league nowadays.
the line is what made james suck. they take thomas when he falls into their lap...especially when grimm and whisenhunt are the offensive leaders of the team. no brainer |
Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
I agree.
And do we really need another situational pass rusher to replace our highly paid situational pass rusher on pass rushing downs? Pa-lease. If we want to improve our pass rush we should try to do it from the interior DL.
I agree with this post. We need interior linemen. Although, I don't think GB would be stupid to make this deal. Peterson could be an exceptional player, and maybe GB is willing to take a chance to find out. However, I do think that drafting RBs is a crapshoot, and better RBs could be found in later rounds (possibly). (and I do believe AP will still be there at #6) |

Exactly, he is an Andre Carter clone with more mileage. Everyone thinks GB would be giving up to much in this EXTREMELY HYPOTHETICAL trade, but this trade values KGB as the equivalent of a 3rd round pick, which is as much as they would ever get if they tried to move him. I've also heard, as SmootSmack mentioned, that KGB doesn't really fit with GB any longer. They have Aaron Kampman as an elite pass rusher. |

Yes but he is still not that productive. We would have to overpay for him, and we still wouldn't be getting any younger on the D-Line |
Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
This simply will not happen because Marshawn Lynch will be on the board when the Packers pick. There will still be decent RB talent in the second round as well. Leornard from Rutgers, Irons from Auburn will still be available in the 2nd round.

Re: Would this trade with GB make sense?
if the packers get Petersen, and trade for Moss, they could be loading up for Favre's last go round. remember, they just missed the playoffs last season
