Hitting has been sub par. |
Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
1) No injuries. This is first and foremost. While I agree with Gman that Id like to see some sort of smooth flowing offensive signs, I'm not concerned about it yet. The offense always takes a while to come around and this will become paramount in preseason game 3.
2) A good look at some depth on this team. Games 1-2 you can always see what kind of players you have behind your starters which I find interesting. A lot of these guys are fighting for a spot and going to be playing hard. |
Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
To me the fact that JC won't play the entire game but only the first quarter or smth like that, is a real pain in the a**. If we wanna be sure he's ready to lead the team as a good quarterback this season it'd be nice to see him play a little bit longer. Anyway it's just preseason but....

yes the sox hitting has stunk. Boy drew looks like a great signing huh.

Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
No injuries

Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
We come home 1-0, and look sharp doing it. No injuries of course.
|
Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
no injuries. and when the starters are in the game, good execution. doesn't mean a ton of points, or turnovers. just doing the things that they are supposed to do
|
Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
No dumb penalties.
No turnovers by any of the QBs or any regular players. Pressure on VY and whoever else they got at QB I also would like to see very few mental errors. It seems we always see it in preseason after a score only having 10 guys on the field and somebody comes running in late. That type of shit should not be tolerated. If you don't know if you are supposed to be on the field, you must not want a job that bad. |
Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
Use the games to establish a habit of winning before the regular season begins.

Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
Honestly, there's only two things that I think need to happen. Come out of this game with no starters injured and secondly, have our first team units dominate their first team units. Once you get into the 2nd and 3rd teams, it's more about individual players and less about the cohesion of the unit.

Re: What's a "win" for this first preseason game?
No injuries.
The starting offense moves the ball fairly well. The starting defense does not give up any big plays. Gets to the quarterback at least once. Would like to see some big plays from our 2nd and 3rd string units. |
