Some interceptions are excusable, balls get deflected or dropped or tipped.
And receivers drop passes, run the wrong routes, etc.
He wasn't under pressure in this game or the dallas game when he threw it to the defender.
I'd beg to differ. I know it's not what you meant, but running a two minute drill with the game on the line and no timeouts sure seems like a lot of pressure to me, for a 1st full year QB.
He has a long way to go and so do we.....season over!
Yes, and before the season started I think most of us knew there would be games like this. We have been absolutely crushed by injuries; maybe if we're all full strength, we make a couple more plays on one side of the ball or the other, and we don't have to rely on Campbell to carry the entire team on his back. Find me another team whose QB had to carry an injury-depleted team in his first full season, and was more successful than Campbell has been. Romo? Roethlisberger, maybe, though I don't know what the Steelers' injury picture looked like. There aren't many.

No matter how you slice it, the kid threw for 300 yards in successive weeks and has engineered SOLID drives (not just chuck-and-pray miracles) at the end of the game that could have won the game. That is something we haven't had at QB in what, a decade?

People take it for granted *because* he's so poised and can march down the field at the end of the game.
It's threads like this one that are the reason I rarely ever post on this board anymore. This some of the stupidest commentary I've ever seen from a group of fans. This team was, maybe an 8-8 team coming into the season. We see Campbell making his 21st career start and somehow people now know how his career will play out.

I'm done with this...it's a good thing "knowledgeable" is no longer in the logo of this site because it's gone downhill in the last few years...everyone have a good season. I'm finished.

Thank God we have a defense.
Oh, you mean the defense that rolled over in the Dallas game, that Jason had to bail out! Right.
no he is not. joe gibbs is. why in the hell did we not kick the field goal when we were at the three yard line. we can not expect JC to lead us to late game rallies every game. we should of been able to kick the tying field goal and took it to OT. the bucs had no offense all game. yea they were bad throws, but thats not what lost the game. shitty play calling in the first half, and that shitty call on fourth and 1 from the two was a dumb call.
Please. It's less than a fucking foot! We go for the field goal and then we'd have another round of "Gibbs Has No Killer Instinct" threads. Alll that "conversative" crap everyone complains about. Gibbs should leave because no one will ever be satisfied with anything ever.

Campbell has to shoulder some of, but not all, the blame.

I am mad but not worried. Remember when JC took his first snaps from center and it looked like he was squating down on the crapper? When when the kid would not look over the entire field? Remember when he could not call an audible? Remember when he started to call play in the no huddle? Remember two week ago when he started to pump fake before throwing? There is a good upside for this kid. He may be the least of my player personnel worries. He will take the glory and will take some of the blame. He and we will be OK. Buffalo and Chicago at home, Giants and Minnesota on the Road and closeout with Dallas. I thought we would be 9-7 (also thinking that would win this division). It is possible to meet this or 10-6 but execution has to improve.

Thank you!!!! I'm glad Gibbs went for it. We can't win kicking FG's.

Re: Is Jason Campbell Accountable for this Loss?

Campbell did throw a bad pick on the last play of the last two games, but both he and the Skins will be better because of it. Because we've gotten no traction in the run game the last two weeks, we've been forced to put it on JC. Without a deep threat we struggle to generate explosive plays, when JC is nickel and diming it down the field he's going to make a mistake or two.

But lets be real, we had 6 turnovers and still had a chance to win at the end. We're good enough to be a playoff team, if we can ever get out of our own way.

I'm glad u came on here, with your connections is there any way you can get word to gibbs that everyone knows when jason lifts his leg in the shotgun the ball is snapped? thats happened every time he fumbles,he's making it way to easy for other teams to anticipate the snap

I haven't been here for a while but felt the need to respond to this particular post. No way I'm willing to blame Jason Campbell for this loss today.

Jason has played superb this season considering the circumstances. I knew from the beginning he was going to experience growing pains, the last two weeks have been perfect examples. As always the case when the team looses people look for someone to blame, Jason is not the only blame to be shared today.

run a fucking bootleg, run to the side, anything then a run up the gut on the number 1 defense in the league, qb sneak beats that play.

And you have to have the lead to have a killer instinct, and losing by nine in the third quarter is not what i call a killer instinct. the patriots thats a killer instinct.

He is but we can't deny how much better he is getting. Lets hope his memory is short term and doesn't blame himself and take it to hard. Because this kid is good and he has potential to become a pro-bowler.

I'm not sure Campbell is getting better. I fear he is becoming turnover prone. He reminds me a little of Patrick Ramsey: Move the ball, get lots of passing yards and then throw an INT. Campbell will be a decent QB, but he has to stop turning the ball over. How many lost fumbles does he have this year?

Re: Is Jason Campbell Accountable for this Loss?

Everyone is accountable. The first pick JC threw was not his fault. Barber read the play, faked one way and broke on the ball. These plays are designed plays and it's not like he is calling his own plays. These are timing plays and JC's job is to throw the ball to a spot and he threw it to the right spot.

As for the final pick, that was definitely his fault and should be accountable for it. He could have thrown the ball away instead of just chucking it.

The turnovers were killers and I can honestly say only the last pick can be attributed to JC.

Re: Is Jason Campbell Accountable for this Loss?

he def. shoulders a good deal of the L, but the turnovers in the first half absolutely killed us...

I love campbell bc he gives me hope. He gives me confidence that we can convert 3rd and anything...yet he's killing me with his now routine (??) choking in the redzone...he seems to panic...which is not unexpected given his tenure, however, perhaps we've overhyped his composure.

there is hope- just not really for this season...though i will continue to think we can run the table..
