The thing it does is it allows Kerney to start the play well before Heyer almost every time. The snap is predictable when you're going on rythm - it has to be. I would be curious as to how many of his 13 sacks were gotten at home and how many on the road. I don't buy Seattle's argument that the roof design "traps" the noise. A dome would "trap" all the noise and Seattle's stadium seems to be far louder than any of the domes. Also you have to consider what type of people live in Seattle. Are they the types to yell at the volume required to obtain that level of noise for three straight hours? I doubt it. It's not exactly the blue collar capitol of America. The crowd shots during the game are proof enough for me. Most of them didn't look like they were making any noise at all.

I think the fact that they've had the rep as being the loudest fans or the loudest stadium or whatever for a few years now probably makes people who would normally be a bit more reserved want to be louder so that they live up to the hype. If they think that they're supposed to be the loudest fans they're probably going to act accordingly.

Man, my old sociology professors would be proud of me.

10.5 at home. 4 on the road. 3 of the 4 on the road were against the Rams who were starting pizza delivery guys on the OL.

Thanks. I was guessing about 10. He was shut out in 6 of 8 road games. I guess the lesson is: Get Homefield Advantage.

If people read what I posted Sonny was saying this at the begining of the game before he had any idea of its out come. He said he heard the horns blowing while we were trying to run our plays and they were pipping in sound. We lost and thats it I was just curious if anyone noticed this or listened to Sonny durn the game. My father listened to part of the game and in the first half Sonny was sticking his mike out the window so people could hear the horn noise.
So what are you getting at here exactly? That a defense is equally hindered by a loud crowd as the offense??
Sometimes, yes.

As someone who was there I can tell you that every single god damn Hawks fan in that stadium had their hands around their mouth and were booing to their heart's content the entire game when the Skins were on offense.

Folks, the bottom line is that the Skins need to win their division so they wouldn't have to be the away team.

Not all the time, how did that work for Tampa?
Yeah it definitely hurt the O-line's performance. With the noise they probably weren't able to make all of their pre-snap line calls, and the d-line had the jump on them every time.

Yes the Seahawks have a good pass rush, but I think on a neutral field the results wouldn't have been the same.

Their 12th man is no joke.
I wanted to post a thread about this but didnt, its got to be the loudest stadium in the nfl.I missed the first qtr sat driving home from work and listening to the radio broadcast gave me a headache because it was so damn loud.I had to turn it up almost full volume so i could hear the announcers over the crowd

In my opinion all of this homefield advantage shit needs to be addressed by the competition committee. The Skins are not the first team to bitch about the excessive noise in Seattle. Crown noise is ok, but that shit is extreme. Both teams in NY need to stop opening the door located near the end zone when the away team gets the ball. I am sure that there are more examples. The bottom line id that their is a fie line between a homefield advantage and an unfair advantage. The Skins had put up with crowd noise all season long, even in Dallas. But never once did they struggle on offense for an entire game like they did in Seattle

Yes I am a Seahawks fan but I am not coming to this site bash the redskins or the fans.

He said you have to win your division to be the home team. Tampa won their division and were the home team. So, I don't understand what you're saying other than trying to remind us that the Giants won their playoff game. Regardless, being at home was not Tampa's problem.
