Re: Who caught the Joe Gibbs presser today at 5pm?
Did coach Joe really say this:
But Gibbs said he believes these Redskins are on the right path, with the right quarterback and the right personnel. If ever there were a time to walk away, this might be it. This is according Adam Shefter.
I think the last line was Schef's own opinion. |
Re: Who caught the Joe Gibbs presser today at 5pm?
I saw the press conference and came away thinking:
1) Gibbs will very likely be back 2) Todd Collins will get the benefit of the doubt in any quarterback competition next year. If TC was already under contract, then JG would be less worried about upsetting the apple cart and would have been more commital on giving TC the starting role. As much as I like what TC has done and see the value of knowing the offense as he does, everytime he throws an out, it seems to float and take forever to reach the target. A savvy CB will jump the route and have an easy defensive TD. Personally, I would stick with JC and try to keep TC as the backup. However, I really don't think that Gibbs feels the same way. |
What's up with the rumor that Williams might be talking to Miami?
All indications are Tony Sparano gets that job as soon as the Cowboys' season is over. Unless the Dolphins can pry Crennel away from Cleveland. GW to Baltimore is possible. |
Re: Who caught the Joe Gibbs presser today at 5pm?
Thanks SS. I swear whenever I see that guy's name, I read it Tony Soprano.
GW to Baltimore? Blech... |

GW to Baltimore is possible.
I hadn't heard anything about GW name come up for the coaching gig with the Ravens. From what I had at least heard they where looking at bringing back the Defensive Coordinator they just fired Rex Ryan or Marty are possibly front runners. |

You guys are crazy, there's no way he's considering retiring.
Boswell sums things up perfectly here: Thomas Boswell - Extending Himself - washingtonpost.com |

If Gibbs wanted to leave, he'd just leave. If he was just staying another year he'd just say he's fulfilling his contract. |

All he needs to do is sign the contract extension Boswell thinks he will and we are off and running. lol Hope it happens this week! |
Re: Who caught the Joe Gibbs presser today at 5pm?
Maybe he didn't want to commit to a starting QB, because it won't be his call next year....Just a thought.
Well I guess now that we know he's retireing this becomes the bigger issue of his press conference. I was kinda upset because Gibbs really talked Collins up and wouldnt make a comment on if this is still Jason's team. At least make it sound like Jason will return to his role as starter but Todd will have a chance to challenge him in the preseason. Now I feel like we got to pay Todd big bucks to stay around. One thing that pissed me off was the last question about if Gibbs was going to continue to let the players train and condition on their own, where they want. I thought the question was asked in a way that alluded to the problems with all the injuries this year. Gibbs kinda blew it off and said that he thinks he gonna do the same thing as last year, which is let them stay home to train individually. |

Well maybe the Gibbsologist, that didn't quite sum it up so perfectly. |
