Woah, they're giving Florence $6M a year!!?? For a guy who's never had more than 4 INTs in a season? I'll say it again, weak FA market this year...
No kidding. For 6 mil, they can have him. I know we need some help there, but maybe the draft will be where we can do some damage.
Damn is right. We might never sign a first week Free Agent again. All the more reason to keep our 1st day picks. We should be aiming to draft 3 starters every year. The amount of money out there is getting ridiculous. Ironically Lance Briggs might be signing for a discount (not for the Redskins mind you).

However Redskin 1 was tracked in Marrieta, GA which has the boys at Extreme Skins thinking that the Redskins could be talking to DeMario Williams or Rod Coleman. My guess is that they're probably taling to DeMario but then again thats only my opinion.
I've heard very little about Demorrio Williams, but what I have heard is good. What do you all think?

Well the guy has experience as a starter so that will definately be a positive. I did think that he was an exceptional pass rusher, but I might have gotten him confused with Michael Boley. Either way, heres Scouts Inc's take on him.

Comment: Williams gained valuable starting experience this year due to the injury to middle linebacker Ed Hartwell. He is a versatile outside linebacker who can contribute in both regular and sub defensive packages. He is a core special teams player. He is a good athlete with competitive play speed, quickness and agility. He plays with a real good motor and can be relentless until the whistle. Against the run, he is a productive player due to his athleticism rather than his instincts. He has above-average read and react skills, but can be inconsistent when reacting to blocking patterns. Gets cut off and/or reached on the edge too often and offenses have been able to break some big perimeter runs to his side. He is more of an edge player that struggles in his stack and shed ability. He has active hands and explosiveness to shock and shed. He is very effective from the backside, has speed and agility to play sideline to sideline. He is an effective tackler in space. Against the pass, he is quick and fluid in his zone drops. Has speed to carry seam and has the reactive ability to stay in position in man-to-man coverage. Williams possesses the suddenness to break on the ball in the short zone and has shown good awareness and ball skills. Overall, Williams is a young developing linebacker who has value as a frontline starter for some NFL teams that use a 4-3 defensive system.

I thought Williams was in Kansas City visiting the Chiefs?

He very well maybe, it's just that Redskin 1 has been tracked to Marrieta, GA. Which makes me think that the Redskins could be looking at former Falcon players. And based on the needs of the Redskins and the available canidates from the Falcons that probably means Williams or Coleman are being looked at.

Well first it could just be someone who lives in Georgia. Doesn't have to be a Falcon.

But more importantly, that's just ES guessing it's Redskin 1. Doesn't mean it is.

Well I'm not one to praise ES they do seem to have nailed this tracking Redskin 1 thing. Apparently theres an aviation site where the team has to submit all flight plans. The flight plans are then made public. The latest one showed Marrieta, GA.

Departure IAD WASHINGTON DULLES INTERNATIONAL, WASHINGTON DC
Destination RYY COBB COUNTY-MC COLLUM FIELD, MARIETTA GA

Estimated Arrival 2008-03-01 04:29
Actual Arrival 2008-03-01 04:28
Latest Speed 209 kts.
Latest Altitude 4200 Feet

However looks like you were right about Williams going to KC. Oh well, maybe they came to pick me up. Marrieta is about 3 exits away from where I live.

Re: Free Agent DB's

Well, I think you're misunderstanding what those flights are. It's a site that lists all flights from all airports. You used to be able to track Snyder's flights quite easily because the tail number of his plane was publicly posted. However, he since unlisted it. So...what ES does is check the site, look for all fights to and from Dulles Airport (because that's where Snyder's plane sits) and make assumptions on the corporate planes whose tail number is "Blocked".

But "Blocked" can be anyone's private jet. Could be Snyder's, could be Ted Leonsis', could be BrudLee's.

All I'm saying is don't get too caught up in what ES posts with flights. Sometimes they hit, but it's really a lot of guessing.

I wish I knew that before. In my case, I just see a bunch of numbers and complicated technical jargon and I believe it. They did seem to get some of them right, but looking at this particular scenario it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

DeAngelo Hall - minimal interst from the team. Certainly not enough to send Redskin 1
Michael Boley - RFA
Rod Coleman - If JLC hasn't said anything then I doubt anything is happening.

After that you'd have to figure out which players live in Atlanta that play for other teams and thats way to much research, even for me.

Re: Free Agent DB's

I REALLLLLLY hope we grab rod coleman... I have a buddy who is a huge falcons fans and he is totally baffled at the players his team has dropped... I, as well as him KNOW the falcons could have at least gotten a late 2nd, early 3rd for coleman, but they are just letting quality players go..

I have been saying this since the DAY that Rod Coleman was cut..

If we pic up Rod Coleman for a modest price and we draft some young guys in the draft (studs) to help with Montgomery,Golston,Carter, We will have a NASTY defensive line..

Rod Coleman still has 5 more years EASILY on him to be dominant. The only reason he was let go cus his cap number was too big and they are rebuilding..

Im not saying Rod Coleman is the answer but im saying that he would make our line INSTANLY 50 times better... easily. HE can push a pocket and get to the QB and disrupt plays, we need that.
