Re: 2008 Redskins Schedule

I like the bye where it is. I like having it in the middle of the year, let's the player recharge when they're typically dinged.

I dislike the 4 Away games out of 6 to finish the season, including two trips all the way out to the west coast (Seattle week 12, San Fran week 17). But I love the 4 home games out of 5 from week 6 through week 11, including the bye in there.

That's quite a homestand in there. Hopefully we can get it going!

I've seen better and I have seen worse. Its just so tough to tell anymore until the season starts. Like last year we thought beating Miami to start the year was a good win only to see them fall to the bottom.
I would have thought that too....they play the Ravens?? Guess they wanted to make sure they won their last game there ;)
I'm surprised by the september 28 date for the final skins game at texas stadium. Maybe the thinking is that it's best played early in the year when both teams are in it, rather than take a chance that late in the year nothing will be at stake.

I really don't like it that we play them that early, or for that matter that we have 3 of the first 5 vs. div. teams. I think this team will be slow in getting in synch, but by mid season will start to come together.

Dallas v.Baltimore in the last game at texas stadium would be cool if it were still the Colts, but the Ravens don't have that sense of tradition (though they have made a name for themselves this decade). Seems an odd choice to me.

It could be that the NFL just didn't consider the last game at Texas Stadium to be a big deal. I mean it's not like Fenway Park or Wrigley Field or something. To me, and most NFL fans, it's just another stadium. I wouldn't see any significance.

Well there's the tradition of the rivalry between the two teams. And the fact that the Cowboys played the final game at RFK

We'll start the season 5-3 go through our midseason slide and recover just in time to make the playoffs.

It's not just another stadium to me. I have so many memories of hearing summerall & madden on cbs doing a dallas game at 4:00. Whether it was the Skins or not, I always loved watching them cause they were the team we constantly hated the most.

Also, I think you're underestimating dallas' popularity, they are "america's team", i.e. the team you root for if your not from texas and have no real fanhood.

I hate to say it , but Texas Stadium is a bit special. I went to the Skins game there last year & had a great time till JC threw that pick. There's not a bad seat in the house. It's one of the most easily recognized stadiums in football & is one of the few small venues left. I think the last Skins v. Boys game there should be a big deal for the NFL as well as fans of both teams.

Steelers isn't the MNF game we were expecting/hoping for

(I think Titans vs Lions is one of the Thanksgiving games. Considering the PacMan rumors Titans vs Cowboys could have been better)
what do you mean when you say its not what 'we request or were hoping for'? Do you really give input into the schedules.

I would have watned the steelers as our monday night game personally. my best friend is a steelers fan...all those years of playing madden against each other.

what were you hoping for?

Best part of this schedule IMO is the closing game againsed San Fran, just in case we really need that game like the last couple years....

I agree with you on this. There are so many damn Steelers fans it should be a huge game. Possibly the best MNF game they have in the line-up.

Fairly favorable schedule. Most of our difficult games are home games (every NFC East game will be a battle, I mean out of division). Seattle could be tough and we may struggle to stick with Cinci's offense

I'm kind of annoyed that the NFL gave us 3 road division games in the first 5 weeks - we could easily have a sizable hole to climb out of.

SouperMeister, I agree that we have a rough start. Only plus side is late
in the season, when we're hitting out stride they have to come to
OUR house!
