Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
In a round so evenly matched, how perfectly fitting for Tiger and Rocco to finish even par to force sudden death. Just plain awesome.

damn I wish I was in front of a TV instead of sitting in my cubical hitting Refresh every couple of seconds, and I'm not even a golfer!

Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
1st tee shot of sudden death: Tiger - fairway, Rocco- fairway bunker up against the lip. This could be it....

Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
Come on Rocco!!
|
Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
Rocco off the cartpath up against the grandstand on his second shot, Tiger on the green. Game over. Too bad. It was hard not to pull for the guy. He could have been the oldest 1st time major champion ever. Needless to say, I think he'll be ranked higher than 158th in the world after this performance. I'd like to thank them both golfers for making this my most unproductive Monday of all time.

It's over!! Tigers going to win.

Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
Hats off to Rocco for playing a great tournament. He really gave Tiger a run for his money.

Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
Helluva tourney. Classic all the way. Maybe the best US Open ever.

Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
Rocco chased down Tiger and made Tiger chase him wow I'm glade this 13' black and white TV I had in the back still worked. I had to listen to the crowed to tell if it was a good shot but its was better than nothing. They said Rocco will jump over 100 places in the ranking for his performance this week at the US Open. Not sure if I totally agree with that much of a jump but he did play a great.

Re: 108th US Open at Torrey Pines
Great win by Tiger.
He proved again that he's a class act in victory too. He hugged Rocco and said he was in pain but couldn't quit on the people who were there watching him. Speaking of pain...the news today is that he played against doctor's orders...then had to play an extra 19 holes and may have done some damage to his knee. He'll likely be taking time off again and missing the British Open. Amazing he can play through that and win. |

Hopefully it's not something that becomes a recurring issue and seriously affects his career. I love watching the man perform. |
