i don't think rice is very good at anything besides being a mouthpiece.
powell would be better, but he got burnt last time :/.
Zero chance on Powell. I have read rumblings that he's a closet Obama supporter. I am guessing we'll hear zippy from him anytime soon or he'll come in favor of BO. |
Re: Obama Selects Senator Joe Biden as Running Mate
a good safe pick for obama...foreign policy experience is something he really lacks and biden gives him that to some extent. Mccain is really going to have to really pick a good running mate. Here's food for thought....not to sound like a racist or a feminist...but if i am mccain i approach condoleeza rice to be my running mate. you gotta shake things up once in a while and naming rice as his running mate would shock the world.
But that's like a 3-0 fastball down the middle for the Dems to say McCain is just four more years of Bush. |

when i started thinking about it sounded good but that might be more ammo for the 4 more years of bush theory. I hate to say this but yet again we dont have the best of candidates to choose from yet again. I have felt this way the last 3 presidential elections. Its like choosing the lesser of two evils. |
I think Biden has always been a good guy with respect to democratic issues and I believe Obama and Biden share core principles. I really like the pick though Biden is irreplaceable in the senate.
Biden is irreplaceable in the senate? Ok, if you say so. |

For the Democratic caucus and the state of Delaware he's a powerhouse senator. A 30 Year senator who voted against the war is irreplaceable. You can toss in Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd in that category too. These are folks that don't have to cover their own asses like most senators for political gains (i.e. Hillary). Edit: I stand corrected, Biden voted for the war. |

So if you have power and can take pork spending to the next level then its OK with you. I believe that all these guys need to go and not make a career out of waisting tax payers money and building power off my tax money. I'm not just talking about Dems here I'm talking all. Byrd is a great example of a man who spent way to much time in Washington waisting my money for his pork projects which made him powerful. |
Re: Obama Selects Senator Joe Biden as Running Mate
So this is what "Change" looks like? :D :D :D

Re: Obama Selects Senator Joe Biden as Running Mate
You guys are hopeless. So if Obama picked someone who isn't from Washington you'd say "it's an inexperienced ticket" and if he picked someone who has experience you'd say "so this is what change looks like?" Republicans, the ultimate hatters!
Obama is going to be the president and there's nothing wrong with getting advice from someone with experience. |

Obama is going to be the president and there's nothing wrong with getting advice from someone with experience.
Well when your platform is change and you bring in one of the biggest pork barrell spenders then thats not change. Pointing out experience v/s no experience and that kind of stuff is how elections go and is done by both parties. Its no different then the Dem's associating McCain to Bush and saying just another 4 years of Bush. Whats the deal with you saying Republicans the ultimate haters? I guess you don't read some of your own post and read what you say about Republcans or maybe the aproach of personal attacks from the left is how things go. |
Re: Obama Selects Senator Joe Biden as Running Mate
I'm not fan of pork so you won't see me defend that but to suggest that Biden is "one of biggest pork barrel spenders" is a vicious lie. I would recommend you check out the Pig Book before regurgitating stuff being put out there to tear him down.
As for my comment on Republicans, I stand by it. I'm sorry but the Republican as I see it is guns, gays, greed and god. That is to say, I whole heartedly believe it to be complete trash. A used tampon is less odious. |
Re: Obama Selects Senator Joe Biden as Running Mate
I've heard that Obama actually had chosen Kathleen Sebelius but then abandoned the idea.

we'll at least you're honest about being close minded, ignorant, and extremely biased. we really shouldn't treat politics like religion or be so emotionally attached to parties that it becomes good vs evil no matter who's standing on either side.... |

we really shouldn't treat politics like religion or be so emotionally attached to parties that it because good vs evil no matter who's standing on either side....
Totally agree. The dispassionate mind is pretty rare. Your party affiliation should not be some badge of honor that you wear on your shirt sleeve to defend with all of your passion. People get sucked in because they're too lazy to educate themselves... so they in turn look up to their political leaders to make their minds up for them. I mean it makes sense the most basic level. A "Follow the leader" mindset makes sense to a voter that has to lead his or her own life, but doesn't have the time or the interest to invest in the affairs of our government. We're all guilty to some extent... just some (and I'm not pointing anyone out) are more obvious than others. Plus... from a politicians standpoint... that's exactly what they want you to do. They want to activate the emotional circuits of your brain that inspire you to go out and vote. They want to give you an emotional attachment that drives you to the polls, which isn't necessarily a bad thing all the time. If we lived in a world that was fully rational, we would be completely passive and inactive. No-one would react to any kind of crisis or alarm. It would just be a totally non-responsive or inclusive. It's a citizens duty to involve emotion into politics... but it's equally his or her duty to not get carried away with all the rhetorical bullshit that's out there. |
