If you're not apart of the committee making the cut, I wouldn't believe anything you took to the bank. Cliff Russell was in the same boat as Taylor Jacobs. If you know anything about Gibbs you know he's famous for keeping undrafted and low drafted players. Jacobs is trying out for a position that needs him to shine at the kickoff/punt return also. Gari Scott scored a TD against Denver's first string and returned several kickoffs with no turnovers. If I didn't know that Jacobs was a high draft pick based on his performance, he would be gozonnnnnnnnnn!
Not even close with that analogy, There is no way you could have compared Russell, to Jacob's, Matty hit the nail on the head, Russell was drafted because of his speed, period! He had a rep in college of not being able to catch, that is why he lasted as long as he did, and may not have been drafted at all if it wasen't for us.
Jacob's on the other hand was rated the 15 best player in last year's draft, as well as the most NFL ready WR in the draft.
Gibb's is also known for keeping high pick's as well.
I am curious what has Jacob's done to be so bad this pre-season? He had a nice catch the other night, as well in his limited playing time last year, made a couple of unbeilievable circus catches, 1 for a TD, you have to understand that Gibb's will try to show case an individual at times, meaning he will run play's for a specific player to see what he can do, it's an evaluation process, and while that happen's other do not seem to be contributing, but that's only because they are not running play's for that individual, against the Ram's he went to Jacob's and he looked fine to me, and if that's your evaluation process who is going to catch the ball for us other than coles? Who by the way seem's to have a chronic foot problem, no reciever has stood out this pre-season, McCant's maybe, and Scott, and neither one is lighting the world on fire, but that's it, Gardner has been pretty much none existent.
