 Good one, but other than that little nugget I like the way he builds through the draft, and doesn't hold on to players too long, and has great personnel people. |
Re: If you could name a new owner for the Redskins who would it be and why?
In some aspects I like Jeff Loria (owner of Florida Marlins). It delights me that one of the lowest payrolls in MLB makes it farther than NYY or BoSox.
He runs the team like a business that is focused on 2-3 years down the road, always. You never hear them signing expensive guys, they develop great home grown talent. Whadya think? |

Al Davis. There's not enough bitchin' on this board.

How 'bout just any owner who doesn't interfere. Man, I can't wait until the season starts so these make believe threads go away.

When? Keep in mind that he signed the contract March 9th 2008. |

I'd make the new owner . . . . .
Fred Smoot If Fred Smoot were a GM, he'd be drafting the 'fat boys' - Shutdown Corner - NFL - Yahoo! Sports |
I WOULD NOT want Gibbs as an owner. How can you guys actually say silly stuff like that w/ a straight face? Give me Robert Kraft, The Mara's or Dan Rooney. Those guys get it.
Why not? Why not want Gibbs? |
Re: If you could name a new owner for the Redskins who would it be and why?
Mike Brown, Donald Sterling...then maybe people would recognize that there are far worse owners out there. Farrrrr worsssse.
And the Capitals' comparison is weak. First off, hockey has a minor league system where players can develop and secondly people don't really care as much about the NHL. People seem to think McPhee was just hired last off-season. The Capitals have first rounders from the past four seasons that haven't done anything in the NHL. We have a 6th round QB from last year that people are already wondering when he will start. |

Rooney family or Pat Bowlen.

Re: If you could name a new owner for the Redskins who would it be and why?
Liu Yongxing. He is rich Chineese farmer who knows zero about football so he would definately be "hands off". The other thing that I like about him is that he got rich feeding "hogs", so the O line would be well taken care of.
Why not China is buying up everything else in America? |

1.) Uh, he traded for T.O. 2.) How many superbowl wins do the eagles have? 3.) Jeff Lurie is more concerned about making money then building a winning team. How do you explain that the team has no true number one receiver yet has 48 million dollars in cap space? |
