Re: Tony Gonzalez to Atlanta for a 2010 2nd round pick
Yes...and he is also a year older. I didn't argue that he was a has-been. I in fact called him a tight end god. I argued that it is he is at an age where decline begins.
I agree with Lotus a 2nd round pick is to high for Tony. He has to adjust to a new system and QB. Not to mention he is a little older and injuries start to creep up on you. We thought it was a good deal to get Jason Taylor for a 2nd too but we see how he got injuried. Anything over 32 yrs in football unless your a punter, kicker, or QB is long in the tooth. This draft is deep at the TE postion. |
You're on to something here. Someone just emailed the Sports Reporters and mentioned a scary scenario ...
K.C. reportedly wants out of #3. Can someone say Cooley and the #13 spot for the Chiefs' 1st this year and the 2010 2nd rounder they just got from Atlanta? The Chiefs apparently have two 2nd round picks next year.
Cooley's cap hit would be something like $11M. Safe to say that's probably not gonna happen. |
