Consider them marked. Now what?

I would have wanted Rashad Jennings or Javon Ringer...but that's not an option here I guess
With Jamon Meredith and Duke Robinson both available when the Skins took Cody Glenn in the 5th round if you were the GM of the Skins who would you rather have had - Glenn, Meredith or Robinson? My vote is for Meredith but would have been happier with either him or Duke over Glenn with the Skins 5th round pick.
Just let it go already, lol! I totally agree with your logic, but it isnt gonna change anything.

I would liked the skins to have chosen Robinson. He has great size and dominated in college. Bugel would have been given alot of depth with this pick. OL is where we needed to get younger and this would have been a smart pick.

What if Duke Robinson becomes a bust or doesnt ever crack the starting lineup, then wouldn't it be smart that we didnt pick him? People didnt agree with the Chris Horton pick and I think that worked out pretty well dont you?

And welcome by the way!

And 30 other FOs that didn't pick him, so we're not the only one. Duke Robinson was also projected in the 2nd or 3rd round and fell all the way to the mid/late 5th round. 31 teams must have known/seen something.

Duke Robinson...Great size and a workhorse in college. Him and Phil Loadholt dominated defenses at Oklahoma. Yes I know this isn't college but this pick would have obviously added depth. I hope Devon Clark and Chad Linehart get some playing time this season. What's the story with Pete Kendell? Does the team plan on resigning him?

While I agree that the thread is useless in that "it doesn't really matter now" (um, does talking about the Redskins on the internet ever "really matter"?) I have to disagree with the premise that "People didn't agree with the Chris Horton pick a year ago. I am not picking on you particularly, I have just seen that logic thrown around a ton (mostly on NFL.com message boards) and it just strikes me as completely false. My sense is that no one really cared much about the Chris Horton pick because he was drafted with a compensatory 7th and was like three picks from being "Mr. Irrelevant." So I have trouble believing anyone was really bashing the Horton pick, just not true. To confirm that I went back and searched this site and found the following "meet Christopher Horton" thread. Couple people said they really liked the pick, couple were questioning ESPN.com's rating system, but no one was basing Chris Horton (most people probably didn't think he would make the team, and didn't really care since he was drafted so late).

The reason that people are hanging on to the 5th round pick this year is because there were a couple of guys sitting there that everyone on the internet had rated much higher. Since everyone is now a draft expert it causes some irritation. I was preturbed at the time of the pick too and really wanted Meredith there. After listening to some local sports guys here in Columbia discuss him in the past couple of days I am not so sure. They basically said he always looked the part but didn't always come to play (I'm not a Gamecock fan, I didn't watch any games this year). Anyway, that was probably the info the USC coaches (do they still speak with Spurrier?) gave to the Skins and to other NFL teams. They probably also saw that inconsistentcy on tape. Hell, the guy even got moved inside to guard, not exactly a move you want to see from a guy you are projecting at either tackle spot. Whatever, I agree, pick is made, move on. But just don't throw out Horton's name to support your argument.

And I'm sure no one will read this whole post. Apologies for the length.

Actually I did and think it was a good post. Obviously we're not privy to as much info as the scouts, therefore our knowledge of the player is not as great as theirs. As much as we think we know, we don't know as much as they do.

Good post. I think some of us just get tired of the constant mindless negativity, like this whole thread. While yes, this is the internet, I think the people that run this site encourage people to make some type of argument if you are praising/criticizing something or someone in the team, and not just blurt out a rant. Yes, the FO has made stupid mistakes, but don't act like EVERYTHING they do is stupid.
