The problem with saying "This bill makes this or that unavailable to illegals" is that there are lots of laws that make lots of things unavailable to illegals (like their presence here to begin with) and they flout those laws. They're illegal see. The laws don't apply to them.
I see...so in a roundabout way the bill does provide illegals with coverage. I suppose by that same token the current heath care system as well as all public and private enterprises suffer from this same problem of fraud too. So the question becomes is the root of the problem the heath care bill itself? Will it be more satisfactory if we evict illegal immigrants first then enact heathcare?

Regardless of whether the law applies to them or not it's in the books. Is the language in the bill valid in the court of law, yes. Is it redundant, yes. I suspect section 246 was inserted to satisfy or disarm Republicans but apparently nothing seem to work on unsatisfiable men.

The last time I was in the emergency room I was in there with a bunch of illegals. I had to pay for my visit because my full coverage insurance (Anthem) refused to pay. Those illegals paid nothing. I paid for them and me.

Now Barrack says I have to get insurance. As if my health belongs to the Federal Government. Since when do others get the right to decide for me what is best for me? The arrogance and subservience of the progressives is astonishing. You'll make great pets.

Barrack Obama is a liar and a thief. He's no different than the other liar and thief that just left. Do you hear the printing presses running? That's the sound of poverty.

It happens your whole life. You should be used to it by now. :)

Using whatever size words you like, the President indirectly backed off the public option, which is a win for all of us.
He did no such thing. You can call it whatever you want but at end of the day there will be an option to get heath care through the government.
I love the movie A Few Good Men. One part that I love is the questioning of the base commander by Cruise. In that section, he repeatedly asks the commander if he ordered that the weakest soldier not be harmed, every time the commander responded more and more aggressively that he ordered the man not be harmed, and that he ordered a transfer of the man off the post. In a great moment, the lawyer asks, why the two orders. Excellent.

That's what I think of when Saden quotes the bill, saying it explicitly says not to pay illegals. if they are here illegally, and should not receive benefits anyways, why does it need to be written into the bill.

anyway thats my 2cents
I often see the world mathematically.

If the language to not give illegal immigrant heathcare is in the bill why does it matter whether it is in the bill? Does the bill weaken or strengthen their legal rights?
I know you always like to make it a left/right issue, but it's not. Both sides are guilty of the same crap.
Then both sides ought to shut the f*ck up about it (channeling my inner-saden there). It's disingenuous for all the Bush bashers to rail on this guy and be dismissive of legitimate concerns that the Dems have done it also. Intentionally or not the argument sounds like "It's ok for people I agree with to do something like this but if I don't agree with them then they need to shut up." The general tone of the current administration and party of power towards those that disagree, dismissive and condescending, only strengthens that image.

The public option is only a means to that end – and we should remain open to other ideas that accomplish our ultimate goal.

I guess we interpret this differently, only time will tell.

I'm not gonna act like I know the first thing about health coverage, I was uninsured for about a good year until my college forced me to take insurance this year.

So this might sound like a dumb question.

But why didn't your insurance cover your visit?

It's called re-branding. Political Marketing 101.

What he is really saying is I really don't care how so long as what we want gets done.

Good question? They just told me they didn't cover emergency room visits. So I told them I'd just pay my doctor cash from now on and didn't need their service.

I have Anthem in Virginia like yourself and they have paid for two emergency room visits and sense we are in the same state we should have the same type policy.

And you didn't already know this? I've never heard of a plan that didn't cover emergency rooms visits in some way...as long as they were necessary.

I have Anthem too. My company is based in VA, but I recently visited the ER here in DC. I had bed bugs! Ouch. The doctor gave me a prescription for some lotion that was covered under my plan. This lotion cost $110, but I only paid $10 out of pocket. I thought it was a good deal.

God I really hate when you guys descend into a bipartisan back-and-forth divided right down party lines. These discussions have become such drivel.

Political talk on the Warpath was good for a while, but sadly nobody wants to analyze the issues or present ideas anymore. I don't think it's worthwhile for me to try to add to the discussion anymore.

For what it's worth, on these health care threads I basically skip everyone's posts but yours...if that makes you feel any better
