Re: Another Vinny Special: Deangelo Hall
^^If Smoot could tackle, Manningham would not even have had a first down, much less a touchdown.
I don't know if you heard it during the game but Aikman and Buck gave Smoot a pass but not Hall. According to them it was inexcusable to not be able to make an easy tackle by Hall. |
Re: Another Vinny Special: Deangelo Hall
Deon Sanders, considered on tof the best corners ever, was known for never making a tackle.

He should have watched D. Green who I consider a hell of a lot better than Deion. |
Re: Another Vinny Special: Deangelo Hall
At least Hall was honest about his shitty performance. When Kelly Johnson interviewed him after the game, he called himself out for poor tackling, bad technique, and penalties. He said he played a lousy game, has some things to work on, and needs to get better.
He's got the skill set for sure. He knows he played like crap today and needs to step up. That doesn't excuse today's cruddy game, but at least he's humble and ready to go fix it this week. The only finger he pointed was at himself. |

I understand that taking responsibility is the first step to improvement, but without some meaningless popularity contest (read: the pro bowl), the guy wouldn't have had this many chances already. He's only 25, and hey, maybe the light goes on next week. But he might not realize if not for his athleticism, he would have been out of the league after last year. |

And you know Carlos is going to want to get paid too! |
Re: Another Vinny Special: Deangelo Hall
Hall was AWFUL...he is so soft in every way. And the score was very decieving. the defense didn't give up a lot of points but they could never get off the field in the first half which gave the offense no chance to get in rythym. this was a total team loss.

Yeah, I heard that. Hall's miss was inexcusable. But so was Smoot's. |

Yeah, they should have given Rogers and extension resigned Springs and still would have had money to sign an OL. But no. |
Re: Another Vinny Special: Deangelo Hall
Apparently Rogers was awsome, because we only saw him acouple of times the whole game.

Hall had the big money on that team as well. |
Re: Another Vinny Special: Deangelo Hall
At least Hall can catch. For the life of me, I can't understand why Carlos Rogers can not catch a ball aimed at his face that hits him right in his hands. That would have been an EASY pick 6 that could have changed the whole complexion of the game. He shouldn't be allowed to leave practice until he catches 100 balls in a row. Every time he drops a ball, an angel loses his wings;)

I completely agree w/ the FO's decision to let Springs go...I watched him closely last season and by the end he was just not a #1 corner (his play against SF was downright awful). I highly doubt Springs rebounds in NE but I could be wrong. That said it seems like Vinny went "looking" for a quick fix to the inevitable loss of Springs and just wanted Hall to be that guy. Not a good football decision. Hall needs to play tougher/more aggressive and he can be serviceable...Jerry and Greg should chew his ass all week for playing like a pussy. |

I do know that Rogers extended clearly to knock the ball away, so he wasn't even trying to catch it.
Sure if he catches it, he's probably gone, but it wasn't Rogers that Eli was trying to hit in the numbers. He just made a good play on the ball. |
