Why does anyone think he is going to hire a GM? What could possibly make us think that?
I'm with you Munny. There really are no clear indications that this is a topic inside the Redskins organization, it's just a lot of wishful thinking among fans. I feel like new GM talk is like starving men in a desert talking about what food they'd like to be eating, or orphans talking about what eccentric billionaire is going to miraculously adopt them.

I mean, I understand why people talk about it, but to talk about it like it's going to happen is to some extant masochistic.

You think we need a young guy for GM, i do like the thought of someone from the steelers though that has to be one of the best run organiztions in the nfl, that said i would love to see dick lebeau come in as gm, he might be a little bit older but i bet he could beat the $ outta have the punk asses we have on our team, and would never back down from ds, and smootsmack what say you about brain kelly for head coach i'd like a college hc or get a cordinator some one in the leauge though not anyone who got fired for losing even though i do like gruden

I worry about college coaches making the transition to the NFL. I think the Fun N Gun is still burned in people's brains enough to not try something like that again.

Jon Gruden would be a good coach. Players play to him and he definatley has the experience. Plus he's not old in coach years. I think Jon is 48 or 49 years old. Young enough to be here for a while and build a good team.

A young guy would help because he would be here for a while (ideally), but I was saying more so because SkinFanatic called him a young, up and comer. And I was just pointing out that he's not really.

There's no reason to believe Lebeau would ever be a good GM.

A guy like Brian Kelly could succeed but he needs experienced people around him. I don't buy that a college coach can't succeed in the NFL but they need to be surrounded by NFL people. It's like someone from outside the Beltway being President. Of course they can succeed, but they need people with experience on the inside to help them through
that would be by dream come true...I think more than anyone Dungy would bring instant credibility and I would put all my faith in him to turn this mess around.
Ah........ no. Dungy was a coach, a damn good one, but not a GM. Gibbs is A HOF coach and is the closest thing we have had to a GM since Casserly. He didn't do the greatest job. HOF coach doesn't equal great GM.

what his 36 years experience, or 2 super bowl rings, or 5 divisional championships, or is that not enough, who is your man?

Those things don't mean he'll be a great GM. Lebeau is great at one thing, coordinating defenses. He wasn't even a successful head coach (granted it was with the Bengals but still). It's like saying well Bugel would be a great GM. It doesn't quite work that way. Where is his experience in scouting players, managing a draft?

Personally I think a guy like Jimmy Raye III (Chargers) would be solid
