Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
Anyone else notice Orakpo looked lost a couple times?
|
Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
Fletcher ended up with 5 tackles, second only to UGH T. Newman UGH with 7.
Nice line for McNabb - 3/10 for 78 yds and an INT. :D |

He pretty much looked lost the whole game and was a waisted pick for the PB with no blitzing allowed. |
Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
How fitting was it for Homo to throw the game ending int.

Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
Not to hijack the thread, but i was curious if anyone here had ideas for how the pro-bowl could be revamped to make it atleast somewhat relevant again.
personally, i cant think of any game that would actually be worth watching. i think the NFL should just name players to the "pro-bowl" and then leave it at that. |
Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
Was it ever relevant?

Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
The way he played the game yesterday was like it was a defining moment in his career. It was good to see him out there making plays, the guy plays the game like he could go on forever.

I bet that would make it interesting at least. Short of that, what about the winning players starts Free Agency 1 week early. Or remove the hitting/defense restrictions, and players with PB injuries are guaranteed 1 year salary. And maybe move it the week before FA starts, so that the players see it as a chance to make a mark. And keep it in Hawaii. |

Also heard an idea of having NFL rookies vs. college football players who are entering the draft (kinda like a Senior Bowl type of game) to see if they college players are ready to play ball at the pro level (I actually like this idea). Regardless of what happens, the game needs to be moved to after the Super Bowl and back in Hawaii. |
Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
I disagree about changing back to the way it was. First off, the attendance yesterday was higher than any other time in Pro Bowl history because it was on the "mainland". Secondly, it gives us some footbal to watch prior to the Super Bowl. After the Super Bowl nobody really gives a crap about the Pro Bowl. It is an "All Star" game and the guys are just out there to have fun, and that is all that it ever will be. From a financial stand point changing it back just does not make sense. They saved money on the trip to Hawaii, and earned more because there were more fans in attendance.

Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
I was proud of Fletch yesterday and not just because he was there. He seemed to trying more than other folks. He brought his same no-nonsense, lunch-pail attitude to the Pro Bowl and I appreciated that.

Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
Guys the PB is for enternainment only and not a hard hitting game. These guys have millions on the line and they are not going to take anymore of a risk then they already do to play in the PB. I said back when ST was picked to play in the PB that was a mistake because he only knew how to play at one level and then he snot knocked the punter. If they changed the rules back I think we would then start to see teams and coaches not allowing a player to play. Just take it for what it is and enjoy.

Re: Fletcher appreciation (named to Pro Bowl!)
Keith Brooking is a good player, but his little pre-game speeches seem too forced and simply not very inspiring.
