Re: LT for Portis?
this thread is a case of the grass is greener on the other side. I'd like to see what our players can do when they are coached up here, not somewhere else.
This is to diehard and SirClintonPortis -- what's up with the Zorn avatar??? Just curious why you are keeping it, do you want him back. As for LT/CP. Lets just keep CP till we get the newest young buck. Not really into many trades of age for age. |
Re: LT for Portis?
^^ the point is to give two franchise backs a change of team, which they both need IMO. Plus Shanny doesn't seem to be big on Portis and according to league sources and peter king, Shanny loves LT. Thats why I came up with this scenario.
So, trading one worn down tire with a plug in it with another tire with the same issue will solve some of our problems? I'd rather see what we have with Ganther, Alridge, Mason, and whoever MS drafts this year. Lets get younger and healthier. |

Gotcha. I was just curious if there was a specific thing you still were emphasizing. |
Re: LT for Portis?
I'm actually kind of indifferent to chester taylor coming here... it'd be nice, but you know that shanny's gonna run a committee so it won't be a big impact or anything. Depends if we can get him cheap.

I'd do that in a New York minute. I highly doubt they would consider Portis though. |

Why would that matter when the salary cap is all but dead? |
Re: LT for Portis?
Let's trade one broken down back for another. Makes sense to me.
Must really be the offseason eh? |
Re: LT for Portis?
I was all for trading Portis earlier, but i'm not convinced he has any real value.
Physical limitation and injury concerns aside, i doubt any team would want him because of his attitude and the fact that he could be locker room trouble. He would not be a good mentor for young players, and he just has no role on a team who is trying to be competitive... |

Something tells me they aren't interested in acquiring another over the hill back. |
Re: LT for Portis?
I know they said they'd be okay with starting Jammer and Cason at CB next year but what if we tendered Rogers and sent him in a package Deal with Portis for Cromartie alone. Or maybe Cromartie and a 4-6th round pick, or hell Cromartie and Tomlinson lol. Id want the Cromartie and 4-6th round pick. I believe we'd also get a compensatory pick for losing rogers. But he has said numberous times that he'd rather be somewhere else and Cromartie is more productive.

There is a lot of talk in the media of the Cowboys and Chargers trading AC for Tashard Choice straight up. There have been reports that discussions along those lines are still going on between the front offices. |
