I feel sorry for you folks. I know that many of you are not used to the heat and some of you may not be fully air conditioning prepared.

That said, what you Northeastern folks call a heat wave, we here call "June, July, August, and the beginning of September."
I've got central air so I can't complain, but yeah there are a lot of folks in this region that don't have a/c. This is really hot for this time of year for us, our normal high right about now should be in the low 80s.
Here is the breakdown for everyone.

So I did 75% I have saved in 2 years $225 in discounts but I have saved even more by having an advanced thermostat, it is like a mini-computer on your wall. Since I put it in if I compare any month that I didn't have it to a month that I did have it (winter or summer) I have saved on an average of 15% off my bill.

I guess you can add the $140 to my savings as well since this came free.

I can adjusted it over the internet if I want to.

Really the program is a no brainier.
I have that thermostat. Love it.

From last evening:

Yeah growing up all we had were window units in our bedrooms. The first time I had central air was when I bought my first house.

Window units?? You spoiled brat! We got a box fan and a pair tighty whites. =)

I can remember waking up some mornings and pulling my sheet back and it felt like a someone had laid a wet napkin over my body, just awful.

I was soaking all day today because it was 107 in the warehouse I work in. I spent most of my day washing 5 gal buckets in the commercial dishwasher in the back of my warehouse and that mofo makes the heat go up all around there.

It was horrible. Looking forward to more of that tomorrow too.
Well, to me when you have a record breaking snowfall and a record breaking heat wave in one area less than six months apart it makes me think that all this global warming/global climate shift stuff isn't just a bunch of BS.
Don't drink the GW Kool-Aid just yet. Just natural climate shifts the Earth has had for thousands of years. It depends a lot more on sun-spot activity and natural weather occurrences than carbon emissions or other man-made factors.

Is it just me or is this weather making you cranky as ****? Seriously, like I was at home and I wanted to throw my pets through a window, foot sweep my wife and then burn down my trailer.

When I was in Ocean City over the weekend the temp was 84-85. As soon as I crossed over the Annapolis bay bridge the temp jumped to 95 and continued to rise. This is freakin insane.

I love Oct. 1, when it starts being "very warm" instead of "hellish oven." :)
