Maybe a dumb question but when you're on a 12 hour flight, you're not on a cramped little 737 are you?
No, 737 can't go that far. You're most likely on a 747, 767, or 777. The body of the plane really doesn't matter though...it's the seat configuration the airlines chooses and how many people they want to cram into the plane. |
Re: Places You Want to Visit
I have this weird thing about visiting Montana.
U.S. Montana Washington Foreign Countries Spain (Barcelona and Madrid) Greece (Cyprus) Italy (many times over) Netherlands Russia |

I would probably go the route you mentioned and upgrade to better seating. I'm sure it's well worth it on a long ride. |
Re: Places You Want to Visit
economy plus is well worth the few dollars extra, I tried it one time, and since have done it every time I have to fly. 5" or whatever doesn't sound like much, but the difference between my knees hitting the seat in front and not makes the flight a ton better.
Abroad, I would like to go to Asia someday, not sure which part. Australia would be a nice to do, if I ever can. Moscow would be cool as well. As I said in the other thread, in the US, I just like to drive, the destination is usually an afterthought.
I always pay an extra $40 for an economy plus seat...sometimes I play the hight card and go to the counter and ask for an exit row seat. Without economy plus I don't think I'd fly at all. |

you could travel like this:

I actually prefer long flights, I hate having to drive an hour to the airport, get there an hour before the flight, get on the plane and then sit on the runway for another hour while some maintenance or whatever is being done last minute...all for an hour and a half flight. If I'm going to have put all that effort into just getting on the plane I might as well have a nice, long flight I can enjoy. I don't want to do all that just to get right off the plane |

I'm just sayin'....if I have to fly, make it worth my while

Re: Places You Want to Visit
I hear ya, but I've got no problems with a quick flight. But yeah, it is crazy when the time you spending going to the airport and waiting around is equal to or longer than your actual air time.

Re: Places You Want to Visit
Short flights at small airports are great IMO. You don't have to show up early, you don't have to deal with crowds -- just stroll onto the plane, sit down and have a drink, then 30 mins later you're there.

Re: Places You Want to Visit
I've only been to a couple places in my young life so far, like NYC and Miami, but if I get the chance there are so many places I would definitely like to visit in my future.
For the US, it would be: Vegas L.A./San Fransisco Mount Rushmore New Orleans Chicago Canton, Ohio to see the PFHOF Abroad, I'd enjoy going on a tour of Europe and seeing the historical spots as well as driving on the Autobahn in Germany lol. I'd also like to visit South Africa, when Elliot from DC101 went there last winter I was intrigued from all the places he and the class visited. I'll add Moscow to the list too, and Beijing/Hong Kong/Dubai/Mount Everest to the list too haha. I think I could just save time and say I'd enjoy traveling the world and experiencing everything there is out there. |
