Did anyone even answer a question about the way to rebuild? Lmfao
I think I sort of tried to. Poor Jontrem, hope this doesn't scare him away. Considering the tools we've had show up here lately he's actually been a decent new member. Hope he sticks around. Has anyone posted Captain and Tennile yet? Captain Kirk? Picard? Captain Lou Albano? |

I'll take care of another one By the way, how come when people talk about Star Trek captains Sisko always gets left out. Avery Brooks is simply a bad ass |

Re: Can we use KC as a model to turn this around?
Never fear I won't be scared away for any reason, I have just been busy. My boss thinks I should be working during business hours for some crazy reason, I don't really agree but hey he signs the checks! I've enjoyed this post as much as anything I have read here, Considering how this season has gone some irreverence was certainly in order.
My personal favorite was Captain Cave man! |

My pleasure. :) And I agree, the original thread wasn't that bad. You're just addressing a restless and delirious bunch, led by The Ego himself. We haven't had much to smile about as Skins fans for 20 years. Threads like these is all we've got... |

Re: Can we use KC as a model to turn this around?
I read an article in ESPN the mag this off season about how the Chiefs used most of their draft picks on players who were captains for their college teams. Now I know a college captain is not ALWAYS a high character guy, but they are usually guys who care about winning and playing the right way. My thought is that the best way to change a culture of losing is to get a bunch of young guys together whom winning is important too.
Now obviously KC is benefiting from having some very good playmakers in guys like Charles and Bowe but I think this might at least be something worth considering with our draft picks this year. Also if something like this post already exists then I am sorry, I am still newish to this form and wasnt able to find anything!
Good thoughts Jontrem. I think the answer to the question is "Yes, the Redskins can use KC as a model." But they won't. Look, in his first off-season as GM, Bruce Allen traded away draft picks for an over-the-hill veteran whom the coaching staff didn't want. In addition to that, he and Dan brought in new coaches who entirely changed the defensive scheme, one that ostracized the best player on the team (even if he did have an attitude problem) and rendered a once strong and proud defensive unit ineffective and impotent. Now we're going to have to release that quarterback, and start over, sans draft picks. These aren't decisions made by an organization with foresight and acumen; these aren't the decisions made by an organization with an overriding philosophy or a disciplined method; these are decisions made by an organization that is prone to impulsivity and recklessness, traits that have defined the culture of this organization for about a decade now. It would be great to adopt a philosophy like that of the Chiefs; it would be great to adopt any kind of philosophy when it came to team-building, but that's just not the MO of the Redskins. The sooner we all accept that, the better off we'll be. |

Yeah, sorry about that. I wrote that last night after a few egg nogs, and I think I was mad that MattyK had posted a Captain and Tennille photo; I was so ready to rock the thread with one of those. |
