Keep in mind that while a ceremony is for the 2 of you, the reception is just one big party for your family and friends.

From what I remember (having kids also kills brain cells), my wife did most of the planning, because she knew I didn't care and because she knew that it was more for her than me. I did the leg work for the reception hall and the DJ (a good friend of mine), tuxes, groomsmen gifts and the honeymoon. She did the rest, and let me in when a final decision needed to be made. Which made it easy was she pulled from her Aunt and cousins who planned a few weddings, so they had great vendors to work with.

Oh, and when you go to register for wedding gifts, she better damn well let you use the pricing gun. That by far is the best part of her schelping you around to all these damn places!

Exactly what we did, except we brought along close family and friends. Had about 40 people in all, it couldn't have worked out any better.

Re: F........Wedding Planning

i just got married about 3 months ago in october and it's a bitch especially the last week or two, the bachalor party will be much needed by then. my wedding was a pain for me because we had it at her parents house and since i'm a general contractor i got to run all the electrical and build a "few" things for the wedding and for my future inlaws(who are awesome soryy, bout your mother inlaw) but overall the best advice i could give you is to agree with damn near everything even if you really don't, but make it seem like you care, the last thing you want is a whole "you don't even care" senerio.

bottom line is you will be married at the end of the day and everyone you care about will be there to celebrate it with you. driving to my wedding was pretty awesome i was already a little buzzed and on the way there i just realized that i was driving to one of the greatest events of my life. it's kinda hard to explain but just knowing everyone you know will be there to celebrate you is a pretty cool feeling.

good luck with everything and just remeber to enjoy it, you can basically get away with murder that night, it's awesome.

I'm in the time of planning my wedding too. I dont know what's worse though, a fiancee that's as laid back as me or one that's like a drill sargeant where she's all business. We are getting married 4 months from yestarday and i feel we don't have anything done except the church (her dad's a preist) and the reception hall. That's it
I hear you on this. When I was getting married, my father in law said he would give me $30k to put down on a house or he would pay for the wedding... like an idiot, I left that decision up to my wife. Just remember, it's her day, you're just there to fill the suit, dance and smile for the pictures.
Oh sweet Jesus... no way.. that'd make me change my mind on its own lol.. not to mention I don't wear rings

Congrats to you and your fiancée.

If it helps, set up a two-column checklist. Outstanding items and who will take care of it on the left, and then the vendor and pricing on the right and knock out a few things a week. Don't leave it until the last minute, as that will make for a hellacious couple of weeks and no time to enjoy yourselves on the special day. And good luck!

A bottle of tequila and a Universal Life church minister named Jeb. That's all you need for a wedding.

My wife and I went to the dominican republic and they planned everything. We paid 3500 for the wedding and 1200 for pictures and a video. That included 8 days 7 nights and airfare. The resort was all inclusive as well. We had a great time and it was well worth it. The best thing was no arguing or dealing with family lol

22 years old and married. Gonna be 23 next month. As far as the too young thing they said the same thing about Kobe skipping college and that worked out pretty well for him, minus the divorce of course.
