Lol. Fair enough.

We won't get a side of rice pilaf for Haynesworth at this point. My guess is he doesn't play football again. He's a serious head case who doesn't care about the game. The only reason I think he'd play again is for another big pay day, which no one will give him.
He has another big payday coming from the Redskins if I understand the guaranteed portion of his contract properly. I think AH is still owed about $6M in guaranteed $$$.

Can anyone here parse his contract and find out what the Skins still owe him?

No guaranteed money left owed to him

Matty:

Thanks for the link.

I thought the $6M (half of the $12M he gets in 2011 and 2012) was still guaranteed.

Mea Culpa!
No guaranteed money left owed to him
If you're talking about non-amortized signing bonus, we have it at about $3 million for Haynesworth.

Which makes sense. That's the $5 million he got to sign in 2009, pro-rated over five seasons (+$1 million cap number per season), 2 of which have already been played. There are 3 years of amortization remaining = $3 million.

The rest was loaded (intentionally) into the uncapped year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we choose not to pick up the last five years of his contract (assuming Haynesworth doesn't opt out, leaving $60 million in non-guaranteed contract value on the table), we do owe Haynesworth more money. But just for cap purposes, that's money that is already off the books per the 2010 contract restructure.

In layman's terms, the total guaranteed portion of Haynesworth's contract that hasn't yet hit our books is a mere $3 million dollars.

Gotta dump him and move on. Do we really want year full of his drama?

I don't care about all of that. Is it going to cause the team to lose games ? Did he cause all the losses this year ? No, find a way to make it work, he can be a valuable asset on the field.

I understand all that has gone on but these are grown men, can they find a way to make it work ?

Did he help us win any?

His drama definitely impacts the locker room. You could hear it from guys last season that were just tired of it by the end.

Whats the big deal. The guy is just looking to cash in with no witnesses what can they prove. My defense would be that a 6'6" 350 pound man does not hit you in the nose and only leave you with a contusion. It looks more like this.

I second this. We should've moved on this year.

Re: How Did We Go This Long Without A New Haynesworth Thread?

Huh...? He couldn't be on the field because he didn't want to play in a 3-4,4-3, 2-5 before even trying and the coach's....gosh awful. Or might have just been on the field laying on stomach with play unfolding while getting ready to nap....forget the okie not good enough, hurt, not a Nose Tackle, Not coming to camp/mandatory, can't run sprints or pass a simple physical, or maybe even not playing due to a 4 game suspension for conduct detrimental to team, this guy is full of excuses and shit. Thats just retarded. The guy is a worthless circus act!

Get that big fat ass bust/locker room bone cancer the hell outta DC.....it won't happen soon enough.
