Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
He keeps himself in great shape and has been away from the grind for a few years. I bet he'll compete to split time somewhere. Some team will give him a look.
I don't know about that. The statement he released said he just recently started working out again, and he said he felt just as strong as he used to. He said that watching his brother has re-ignited his desire to play. Please, Tiki. An empty wallet has left you no choice. We all know this. "After seeing my brother still have fun at our age, it reignited the fire," Tiki Barber said, according to FOXSports.com. "I'm really looking forward to the challenge of seeing if I can get back to the level of where I was. I started working out again recently. It kind of shocked myself. I still had a lot of the strength I had before. I'm really looking forward to making a return." Agent: Ex-New York Giants player Tiki Barber files to play in NFL again - ESPN New York |
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
Whatever happens, it won't be with the Giants. He threw Coughlin under the bus, and said Eli wasn't a leader. And then they won the Super Bowl. Lol. He's a piece of dirt. Leaving an 8 month pregnant wife for a 23 year old intern. Fail.
Preach. The Giants have already said they'll release him, and I don't think he's in any sort of football shape from what I've heard. And it wouldn't surprise me if this was a money ploy. And he is a piece of dirt, if even that. |
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
Maybe we should have a poll
Who will score his next NFL TD first? Tiki Barber Herschel Walker |
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
Tiki's probably doing this cause he owes his wife money now in their divorce
|
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
Didn't the Giants win a Super Bowl without him?
Why would they Giants want him and not Bradshaw/Jacobs? Geez, washed up-aging veteran- older than every RB in the league....... He'll be a Skin by tomorrow if Snyder intervenes. |
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
It sounds to me like Barber is just wanting to play again. He's not saying he will start, or win a superbowl, or any of that crap. The guy i think just wants a chance to make the squad. He will accept any role at this point.
Why not take a chance on him if he can help us out and we get him for cheap $$ ?? |
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
AND if this does work out for the......TIKster, there is always a top shelf career in...Cage Fighting awaiting

Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
He wants to play with his bro in Tampa
And Tiki doesn't strike me as a guy who just wants a chance to be accepted onto a squad and will just take a backseat. There's nothing to gain, in my opinion, in bringing him here. It's not like he was even active last year like LJ and Parker at least were in 2009 before we signed them |

Move on with Torain and bring in someone else to split the load, Williams as the 3rd down back |
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
Read an article about it.
In its report, SI.com said Barber reportedly left his wife of 11 years, Ginny, for 23-year-old Traci Johnson, a former NBC intern. Ginny was eight months pregnant at the time. Soon after, NBC cited its morals clause and terminated Barber's contract, which reportedly paid him more than $300,000 per year. In June 2010, the New York Post reported Barber was broke and couldn't pay his divorce settlement with his ex-wife. My Way - Sports News
So: 1) He's broke. 2) He just went through a divorce, because he married an intern he knocked up from NBC when she was 8 months pregnant. 3) Got fired from NBC for knocking up the intern as above. Too bad that a 36 year old guy considered a candidate for the Hall-of-Fame is considered already washed up, broke and unable to get a job. Every other career and he's in the prime of his career. He's got little chance to succeed in the NFL - but if someone picks him up he'd get vet min $700-800k... So perhaps he IS smart for trying again. |

Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
Scumbag. Ditched his pregnant wife for an intern. I'm glad she drained his bank account.
I actually used to like him as a person, not so much as a player...he torched us. Traci Johnson - Photos Wasn't aware of this mess before...so I change my stance...leave the bum to the other 31 teams. I'll still like to see Herschel try out though, but it sounded like he only wants to play for the Falcons. I don't think Walker can be a big contributor, I just want to see him try. Guy is a beast and who knows...maybe he can. |
Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?
Pain, you funny!
I'd be surprised if he made a team though. I mean, I'm sure Willie Parker and LJ are/were in better shape than Tikki and they struggled. |
